I'm writing up an article about the Evangelite military now, and I just realized how many issues their shitty naval force probably causes for them. Their sea vessels are woefully primitive compared to what foreign powers are using. They actually used to have a decent navy in the 2nd Age, but the Nymph Pact kinda fucked them over and they had to abandon their more advanced ship designs.
I imagine their biggest bully on the seas is not Folkvar Kingdom or any other Great Kingdom...it's actually the Oceanic Resistance. The Resistance doesn't have any particular beef with Evangeline or anything, they just sink their ships for easy loot because they're basically glorified pirates.
Naturally, Evangeline shakes its fist at the sea and yells, "SCREW YOU, SOVEREIGN!" every time this happens, because they're too bigoted to differentiate between Aquarian cultures.
And Sovereign's like, "Ummm wtf is your damage, I didn't do shit to u. BUT I WILL NOW"
And now Evangeline's coastlines are getting gangbanged by two different Aquarian factions at once, and it does not have enough naval power to do much about it. This is why Folkvar's fishing industry is jammin' and Evangeline's is crap, even though they theoretically have the same amount of sea territory.
Anyway trying to attack this kingdom by land or air is a death sentence, but attack them by sea and they're a wet noodle. I see water as its main weakness.
