9. What do you like that's pretty standard?

I think everything I like is fairly standard lol, colds, cold denial, fevers, coughing, anything sickfic-esque! Love holdbacks, love stifles, love false starts, I mean while I'm picky about the story settings I like, the sneezing part I'm pretty much always down on. This one is hard because I feel like I don't know what exactly is standard haha.

10. What don't you like that's pretty standard?

I don't like handkerchiefs like... at all lol and I see a lot of writing that includes them. I totally get the idea of why people like them, they just aren't my thing. I'm not a fan of tons of mess either, though I'm not sure if that's standard, it seems like we're all pretty split on that one. And unfortunately, I'm not a fan of written fiction with sick women - I prefer wavs from femme people, but for some reason it just doesn't do it for me in fiction. I feel bad saying that though, because I know there are a ton of writers on here who write incredible women-centric fics!

18. Do you believe in ghosts and/or aliens?

Oh, a million percent. I’ve had a few weird experiences with the paranormal over my life, and I choose to believe in it for many reasons (namely that it helps comfort my crippling fear of death lol).

As for aliens, also yes. Our universe is so unbelievably, unfathomably huge, that I refuse to believe that we are the only intelligent life in existence.

25. Fave season and why?

Definitely fall. I hate being too cold, and I hate being too hot, so autumn is usually the perfect weather.

“But spring! What about spring!” Allergies.

My fav holiday is also Halloween, and I love the way autumn days feel—with he leaves training orange and falling, the sky slightly overcast.. it’s so nice.

I thought you say NY is progressive?

Hey Nonny, NY CITY is progressive. Very progressive in general. But NY State, Long Island (which is where this took place), and even Staten Island (boro of NYC) ... not so much. But trust me, people in my area don't like claiming any of them.

There is a lot of outrage about this locally, and not just from the LGBTQIA community. Everyone's been talking about it, and people are pissed. The wheels are already in motion to have this changed, again, something you won't see in an area that's not progressive.

Remember, no place is perfect. I've seen blatant transphobia, homophobia, etc., in the center of Greenwich Village... but the person spewing it is more likely to have their teeth knocked out for doing so. And to me, that's a win.

Personally, I don't think this will be in place long, but I still fucking hate it. It still sends a message and still hurts countless people, and deep down, I know that was the motivating factor for some involved in this, and it's infuriating.

We're not perfect, but trust, if you're queer and/or progressive, this is still a pretty good place to be.

(jaeyleo here) hello!! ur jj is so cool!! it must have been AWFUL to be trapped in his own body and for so long!! aaahhgg!! i’ve got a couple questions if u don’t mind ! 1. could james and anti interact while he was possessed? 2. was james conscious the whole time while being possessed or was it like being asleep? 3. how hard was it for james to readjust to being in his own body again, did he have trouble moving on his own and completing small tasks? thanks for sharing!!

Hello! Thank you ^-^ And I absolutely do not mind questions, I love questions!

For 1) yes, they could. It was a bit like a telepathic link, and it was a lot of taunting on Anti’s part because he’s an asshole like that. At first Jameson tried to argue with him, but he gave up on that around fifty years. The only other interaction they had was when they were fighting for control (which, to JJ’s credit, he never fully gave up on.)

And 2) yes, yes he was conscious. Over time he started dissociating and daydreaming so he could ignore what was happening around him, which he still does sometimes when things get too close to what happened.

And 3) It was sort of a situation where he thought he was fine, since he could walk around after a few minutes and was able to write stuff, but then upon further inspection everyone realized there were a lot of deeper problems. He had to relearn BSL because his fingers just Would Not function, and he couldn’t hold onto anything that weighed more than a TV remote because his body would just be like “heavy--drop it.” He also forgot for a while that if he wanted food, he had to go get it. Or just the concept of “want something, go get it” altogether. Luckily the others were there to help him out, and he now goes to therapy--mental and physical--to deal with these issues ^-^
