HC: For all his intellect, Itachi's actually a big dumbo about pretty much everything else. I love thinking about Kisame as a good thug teaching him how to 'handle' problems and Itachi just innocently accepts it, but Shisui is just ???? screaming, Itachi you can't go around acting like a gangster I'm sorry
Itachi sat across from Kisame sipping lightly at his cup of tea. Kisame had been rambling on for some time now and Itachi found himself staring off into the distance. It was in the direction of a honey eyed, long black haired girl. She sat alone, glancing up every so often at Itachi and giving small smiles.
The girl came to that cafe everyday for lunch at the same as Itachi and Kisame did. She sat there writing on her laptop, and sipping at her coffee, sometimes meeting eyes with the raven.
He found this to be quite intriguing, watching her each day had become his new daily routine. Kisame would talk about this and that, nothing in particular, while the weasel sat there listening and nodding, but never really paying attention.
Itachi did actually notice her, but just made it seem as if he were just staring in her direction. He liked to watch her, but he didn’t want to throw her off if she were to catch him. That was until today, when the girl got up and walked over to their table.
"I couldn't help but notice you were staring." She giggled and held her hands behind her back swinging slightly side to side.
Itachi stared up at her curiously, his brow furrowed, "My apologies miss. I just seemed to have dazed off looking in your direction."
"...um, uh. No, it's not a problem.” She waved her hands, flustered. “I was just thinking if you wanted to..." She sighed. "Sorry to have bothered you." She looked down, her eyes glued to the floor, and shuffled back to the table, this time she just sat staring down at her hands, disappointment and embarrassment clearly written on her face.
Itachi watched her walk away, confused. "That was odd," He commented.
"Itachi-san...." Kisame leaned his head over to catch Itachi’s attention. "...she was trying to have a conversation with you," he continued once Itachi looked at him.
"Hm? Then why didn't she stay and talk?" Itachi queried, a light furrow on his brow. This made his spiky blue haired friend shake his head and sigh.
"Itachi....” Kisame explained patiently. “You kind of drove her away with your answer. You should go over there and talk to her. Give a warm smile and ask her name."
"Why would I do that?" the raven asked plainly, clearly not understanding the concept.
".....b-because that is how you talk to pretty girls who are clearly attracted to you." Kisame turned back to check if the girl was still there. Thankfully, she was sitting in her same spot, sipping pitifully at her tea.
"Oh. She is attracted to me? I didn't think she was.” The Uchiha stated, a small frown on his lips. “Aren’t you supposed to flirt with those you are attracted to?"
"......it was perfectly clear to me that she was trying to ask you on a date or somethin', " Kisame answered. "Now go... go." He shot Itachi an exasperated look and jerked his head in the direction of the female.
"uh...okay. What do I do?" Itachi stood up looking to the girl then back to his friend.
"Just apologize, sit down and talk to her like you do me or Shisui-san," Kisame gave a thumbs up and a small encouraging grin.
Itachi nodded and made slow long strides towards the girl’s table. He greeted her with a small warm smile and a half bow.
"Hello again, I must apologize for pushing you away earlier. May I sit here?" He motioned to the booth across from her.
The woman giggled at his formality. "Of course, please to meet you, I am Nanako Mia." She held out her hand, “Uchiha Itachi,” the raven took it into his own and gently pulled it to his lips planting a soft kiss, earning a deep red dust over her cheeks.
They sat for a while, talking quietly, though it was not audible, every so often laughter could be heard from the girl and some chuckling from Itachi.
It was quite sad, for as genius as the boy was he took things at face value, as they were written or said. Never picking up on a flirtatious girl, but as long as he had Kisame, there was some hope yet.
"Oh! Come on defense!" The curly haired teen yelled towards the field.
"Shisui, calm down- it is just a football game," His young and tired cousin replied tugging on the tail of Shisui's jacket, indicating Itachi wanted his personal heater to sit back down.
"DEFENSE!" Yelled another deep voice as it approached the Uchiha boys.
Shisui's smile was met with one from their tall muscular blue haired friend Kisame, his canine teeth prominent . The towering man, though big, managed to make his way through the crowd without bothering a single person around him. He was a giant, but a gentle one, who happened to befriend a socially dense genius and a goofy fluff ball.
Curls, his earned nickname because undoubtedly his curly hair and his incomparable enthusiasm, dropped back down onto the ice cold metal bench next to the long haired crow with a grin and waved spiritedly as Kisame took the other side. Shark boy-as others deemed his nickname due to his skin condition which caused him to have a light blue tint and gill like scars- was dressed warmly in thick blue jeans, a white long sleeved shirt and black trench coat. Shisui sported a similar look, but with tighter black jeans, a tight white and navy striped shirt and a black leather coat lined with that warm fuzzy cotton. Itachi, however, was under-dressed, and went with a tight black turtleneck, and matching black sweats.
Itachi’s lack of layers was easily noticeable, and it was no surprise when he began to shiver. The stoic teen said nothing, of course, this being Itachi. The chills didn't last long though. Before he knew it he was being draped with a long black trench coat and a fluffy leather jacket. The over-sized trench coat hung around his shoulders and he held the fluffy inside of the leather jacket over his mouth, the length of the shorter jacket was enough to cover his chest.
Shisui decided to stand for the most part of the game. He would yell at their team, though it never did any good. Kisame switched back and forth. Sometimes sitting and chatting with Itachi, a hand wrapped around his shoulders for body warmth with the raven curling his legs up to sit crisscross. Then the spiky blue haired teen would give in to his need for action and would decide to stand next to his other companion, shoulder to shoulder yelling with the goof.
Finally the game ended, their team taking a loss. Everyone filed out of the stands, moaning and groaning, some spitting obscenities, but nothing to really cause a riot. The trio waited behind the crowd, finding it easier to just wait for everyone to leave.
Eventually it trickled down to just them being the last stragglers to leave. Itachi returned the trench coat to it's owner but claimed Shisui's leather coat as his own, Shisui did not care in the slightest, knowing he would just turn up the heat on the drive home.
The trio shuffled towards the car, Itachi between the two sports enthusiasts.
"What a game huh?" Shisui commented attempting a conversation to help end their night.
"Shitty game," A light scruffy voice called out, it belonging to neither of the other two teens.
Cretchk. Leaves crunched beneath the boots of a scraggly teenage boy and a small group of three others. They pooled out from under the bleachers. The posse leader tossed a palm sized rock in his hand, as he approached the group in attempt to intimidate them.
"Ay look boss, we got us a pretty one here." One of the group members called motioning towards Itachi.
Kisame and Shisui both rose broadening their shoulders and widen their stance in defense. The young raven looked to both confused then put a hand on the curly haired Uchiha’s shoulder.
“Is he talking about you Shisui?”
Shisui’s eyes widened and his jaw dropped, a small droplet of sweat rolled down the side of his forehead.
“Are you serious Itachi?” He looked to Kisame for confirmation but as they were distracted the clueless raven was snatched from behind and dragged just out of reach. The punk held Itachi’s arms down pinning them against his back as another duct taped them together.
“Itachi-san.” Kisame’s brows furrowed as he turned and pointed an accusing finger towards the guru leader. “What is it that you want?”
Shisui stared for a second in disbelief, his hands shaking slightly, but kept a cool composer, trying to be sure not to panic. His eyes stayed glued to Itachi as he let Kisame do all the talking.
“We’ve taken what we wanted, now scat.” He turns his back and snaps his fingers causing those of his posse to straighten and follow him in a formation behind him.
Swosp. Crmnrch. Trftmph. Before they could get far though he stops and turns to see the commotion.
The two culprits who attempted to capture Itachi lay in a fetal position one holding his stomach the other gasping for air and holding his head. He cocked his head to the side and looked wide eyed at the others, a wild devilish smile spread across his face. “Who’s next?”
The shark boy bellowed a wicked laugh, his head snapping back, as the wannabe tough guys took off in a sprint towards the open gate, the injured two whining as they struggled to pull themselves up.
“You’re fucked up man.” The one who had taken a jugular shot commented.
“Yeah dude, it was just a joke…” He looked weakly at the long haired raven before accepting the aid of his friend, them too scurrying away towards the gate.
“Hm, I seem to have overdone it.” Itachi looked to Kisame, now wiping tears of joy from the corner of his eyes, the raven twirling his pocket knife between his fingers before flipping it shut.
“!? ITACHI??? What?... you can’t just do that to people?” Shisui looked appalled. He stared in wonderment at his best friend. “When and where did you learn to do that?”
Kisame put a hand on Shisui’s shoulder causing the curly haired boy to jump. “I taught him a little self-defense.” He spoke through a prideful smile. “I taught him well didn’t I?”
The youngest boy slowly walked back to his two friends, a satisfying feeling making him light on his feet. “It did the trick.”
Curls places a soft hand to his cousin's shoulder, giving a soft gaze into his eyes. “Itachi...no…just. You can’t go around acting like a gangster, I’m sorry.”
A wide smirk forms on Kisame’s lips as he leans his head between the two and snakes his arms around both of their necks. “I’m starving, let’s go get some fish.”
“Kisame, we always get stinky fish!” Shisui glares daggers into the sharky boy’s eyes. “A nice juicy burger sounds better tonight.”
“Ugh no, we got that the time before. Itachi-san, what do you think?”
“Why don’t we go to a buffet and get whatever we like?” He gives a small smile looking to both companions as they made their way to the car.”
“Agreed.” Both Kisame and Shisui answer. They walk out of the gate, their traces disappearing into the night, the stadium finally empty, and the autumn wind whistling through the crisp air.
