So I have this whole imaginary Gen V alternate universe where Victoria adopts Marie when she is about 15 and then Sage basically turns Marie into the world's strongest supe, while also manipulating her through the guise of concern and love (though the lines get blurry after a while) that I will probably never write to completion but I don't want to deprive it from the world so this is it:

One day, say between season one and two of The Boys, Sage finds out about Project Odessa, without having to fuck a gross wrinkly old man. And she learns about Marie Moreau, poor girl who killed her parents on accident and has been separated from her family and is probably so lonely and desperate for love. And she came up with a plan.

And maybe that same day, Victoria Nueman found out about a poor orphaned girl who she shares powers with and who also killed her parents. And Zoe has always been lonely as an only child. Vicotria knows that it's not like she wouldn't pass a house check. So she also came up with a plan.

Sage grows interested in grass roots politicians. Marie Moreau is adopted. "I don't want to call you 'my ward'" she says. "And I get it that I will never be your mom, okay kiddo? You can just call me Victoria or Vicky, most people do."

Sage meets Victoria. Victoria introduces Sage to Marie (and Zoe). Marie is enamored by her- an actual Black supe that she can talk to. A young Black supe who is the first Black woman to hold her in a hug in years. Sage is nice, funny- but in a cool dry way, sweet and blunt in a way that makes Marie feel mature and properly challenged. Marie meets Sage's family, she calls her Jessica and idolized her. If Vicky is Marie's legal guardian, Sage becomes almost like a young aunt or older cousin to talk to.

Victoria and Stan meet with Sage. They want to know what she is doing with Marie. Sage tells them she thinks Marie is a powerful supe and that under the right guidance she could do great things. Victoria says she already knew that and doesn't need help.

Stan waits. Sages explains, partially. She says Marie's power is impressive but it is important to have a strong medical background for it. She offers to tutor Marie in anatomy and hematology while also trying to help her develop her powers.

Victoria waits. Days later Victoria asks Marie if she really wants to be a supe. Marie says yes. She asks Marie if she would want to get lessons from Sage, but only if she could continue to maintain her grades. Marie all but screams yes.

Sage trains Marie. Marie grows close to Jessica, treating her as a confidant for most issues. Jessica lets Marie explain petty high school drama and coaches her through the many different ways Marie could react and the many different ways they could go wrong. Jessica teaches her how to think ahead, how to ensure that you are always one move ahead of others. Marie hangs on Jessica's every word, of course she does. Jessica is the world's smartest person, Marie would be an idiot to doubt her.

By age 17 Marie Moreau is famous. After less than eighteen months under Sage's guidance, she has already created an impressive number of saves. While other teenage supes join Vought teams and rack up Instagram followers, Marie is recorded as she restarts small Black girl's heart after what should have been a fatal car crash. Sage manages Marie's social media accounts, once again guiding the girl on how to maintain a good public image and what to say at which times.

Stan tells Marie that Vought is interested in her. Marie tells Jessica. Sage asks to act as Marie's legal representation along side Victoria- she passes the bar exam when she was 14 so it will be easy for her. Marie agrees. Sage continues to elevate Marie without Vought's interference.

By age 20 Marie already has deals with Red Cross, doctors without borders and BandAid. Vought has been wanting to work with her for years. Sage tells her that it's finally time to negotiate. Marie tells Vought she wants to create her own team and have Sage manage them. Vought says no.

Two weeks go by.

Vought says yes.

Homelander is annoyed.

Marie makes her team. On it is her high school best friend, Emma Meyers and Godolkin University's second rated supe and her teenage crush Jordan Li. Marie explains to Vicky and Jessica that it is because they have an impressive history of saves and a strong work ethic. She also takes on Greg and (insert random O.C for the sake of numbers).

Sage and Marie ensure that the team is properly trained for superhero work. The team does actual hero work, with the bare minimum amount of red carpet premiers and opening ceremonies- not that they need it when a clip goes viral of Jordan resuscitating someone or Greg flying a mother and her child to the nearest hospital goes viral every other week.

Homelander gets mad.

Jordan flirts with Marie. Marie refuses to blur personal and professional lines like that. Jordan points out Emma is her friend. Marie defends Emma as an amazing supe who has been helping her for years.

Jordan flirts again. Marie blushes.

Jordan flirts again. Marie kisses them. Marie goes to Jessica for advice.

Homelander is hurt that this child is taking up his fame. Everyone is always asking about what he thinks of her now. Marie has the highest approval rating not just in the U.S but across the world.

Stan offers Marie a place in the Seven. Marie declines.

Homelander is livid.

Marie and Jordan date. Marie loves them. Jordan loves her.

The team respond to a mass shooting event. Jordan works to talk down/ disarm the gunman Marie and Emma tend bleeding and Greg flies people to safety. By the time Homelander arrives Jordan has already taken the down the gunman.

Homelander is engulfed in rage. He attacks the crowd.

Marie thinks fast. Marie who has brought more people back to life than she can count, acts immediately. Marie, who can hear other's heart beats as clearly as her own from over a hundred feet away, tries to stop Homelander.

Homelander paints the sidewalks.

Sage laughs wildly when the footage plays on VNN. She wasn't sure if the shooter plan would work.

Somewhere Billy Butcher gets black out drunk.

Marie goes to trial. Sage defends her. Marie repeats that she didn't mean to kill the man, just to keep him from harming others. Marie walks free. The world takes a deep breath for the first time in decades.

Vought begs for Marie to be their new show pony. Marie agrees, with many stipulations. Vought implements new training. Vought closes down Godolkin University. Supes are monitored more closely and Vought becomes 'a force for good', good and wholesome once again.

Sage and Stan shake hands.
