Mistreil watched as Pi looked at her sheet of paper, which she assumed to have read "Mistreil". She became slightly anxious as Pi looked around the room, a sort of... terrified? look on her face.
"Make it stop!!"
She got up to approach the girl, before she noticed a fragment of ice fall. She gripped onto the jacket placed on her as she moved away from the debris.
(( long as hell im sorry LOL just tackling everything at once. if i were to draw then i wouldn't be done until like.. next week. huehue. i'll draw all the stuff eventually i promise. for now though: read more ahoy! ))
"Get me out of here!!! GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!"
As Pi scrambled frantically towards the exit and fell unconscious, Mistreil stood silent. Everyone was dancing, or had just finished dancing, yet there she was. Alone.
'Well... Isn't that obvious? She wouldn't want to dance with you. She doesn't know you. You're always left alone. You should just give up, you know? Then you won't get hurt.' The voice of the other Mistreil whispered to her. She was slightly hurt, and she couldn't quite understand Pi's reaction either. If Pi was anything like the other Mistreil, she would've just put the past aside and grinned. Was her assumption in their personalities wrong? She hadn't a clue. More and more ice began falling, as if the whole ballroom would collapse.
"Everyone! Evacuate immediately! Follow me!"
She heard Hip yell, directing everyone towards the entance. She watched as he picked up Pi, and she began walking to the entrance. Was Nekyu's magic weakening even more? Actually, where had he even gone? She could hear faint screams through the air. Were they from Nekyu? She looked around a bit. Even if she didn't go to the entrance, she wouldn't die. She was a milletian.
'Besides, no one will even notice if you don't get out.' The other Mistreil's voice again. It stung a bit. Maybe he was right. The only people who might notice would be Acorn, Viridys or Venux. But she wasn't even that well acquainted with them. As she roamed, tracing her fingers against the walls, she noticed all the exits were closed off. She continued following the screams, hoping that she could find their source. It sounded like Nekyu was in pain. Injured? Being injured?
'Is he dying? That's good. He's getting what he deserves! He hurt me after all. Everyone would be better off if he died, right? I hope he's dying.' The other Mistreil's voice, yet again.
Nekyu was bad. He hurt people. He killed people. He killed Avriana. She didn't like the idea of anyone dying, especially not infront of her. But he had given her a coat-- maybe he was trying to change? Maybe he was trying to make amends. She couldn't tell. Her grip tightened even more on the coat. She couldn't save him, even if she wanted to, considering the seals. But... did she even want to save him? The other Mistreil was right. The damage Nekyu had inflicted on him might be light in comparison to other things he might have done. He might have killed a lot more people than Avriana had.
Maybe it was better if he died. But that went against her morals. Her beliefs. Would she really sacrifice Nekyu in order to save maybe hundreds of people in the future? After all, as far as she could tell, Nekyu was just chaotic. Hurting people was fun for him. He was sadistic. So maybe--
"I don’t want to die alone! I’m afraid!"
All her thoughts halted. He was alone. He was afraid.
'You aren't seriously considering...? Just because of that? Because he's scared and alone? Because he's--' "Just like me." She murmured. She was born from fear. She knew how scary it was to feel alone. And Nekyu reminded her of a certain event of her past. A painful one. One that had left her alone. She bit her lip. She pushed through a few crowds of people who had made their way to Nekyu's general direction in curiousity.
'Why are you helping him? You know what's going to happen.' History would repeat itself. Maybe she would be hated. But being alone was scary. 'But he hurts people! He killed Avriana!' She and the other Mistreil were also at fault though. If it weren't for them-- 'Everyone will hate you! Do you really want that to repeat? He'll kill more people!' The other voice began frantically screaming, panicking, trying to dissuade her from helping Nekyu. "T-then I'll just stop him from--" 'How? Monsters are monsters. You can't change anyone!' "I know! I know... So... I'll just--" 'Playing hero?' Hysterical laughter echoed through her head as the other one broke down. His attempts were in vain. "... Yes. I always was fond of fairy tales, right? You said so yourself." 'WRONGWRONGWRONGWRONGWRONG YOU'RE THE PRINCESS DON'TSAVEHIMDON'TSAVEHIMDON'TSAVEHIM' His voice became quieter and quieter as his attempts failed. '... Don't save him... Someone else will, so...! You already know how this will end for you!'
She watched as the seals fell, pushing her way through. The other Mistreil was right. She'd probably feel even more hurt. People would probably hate her for helping Nekyu. She'd do her best to stop Nekyu from hurting people, but even she knew that was impossible. But she couldn't didn't want anyone to be lonely. If she didn't help him, maybe someone else would. But that person might be hurt in the process. After all, there was probably only one way to save Nekyu.
She lifted her skirt, pulling out a dagger stored underneath. She had brought her weapons with her in the chance that the ball would end as the previous one had. She wanted to protect herself. But, to her, more painful than any physical pain was the pain of feeling alone.
She approached Nekyu, who was with a man. She wasn't quite sure who he was, but she decided it didn't matter much. He was stabbing the incubus. Maybe he was playing hero, too. Saving everyone else from Nekyu. She wasn't sure if she could remove Nekyu from the man, or stop the man from stabbing him, but the man wasn't facing her in any case. Maybe she could just ignore him for a while. She sliced off a part of her flesh from her left arm, her face grimacing in pain, and, as she approached them, put it in Nekyu's mouth. She held her forearm out to Nekyu, carefully placing his jacket on the ground beside her.
(( if u want visuals the closest i got would be [x] and [x] LOL but i forgot the jacket and stuff and they were concept-y anyways. close enough, though. ))
