Ecclectic anon again - My opinion of Awakening characters' Hogwarts houses: Chrom and Sully are Gryffindor, Virion's a Slytherin and when everyone thought he fled to flirt with girls they were all "typical slytherin" but actually he was using psychology to save his people which is kinda even MORE Slytherin of him. Donnel gave the sorting hat some trouble deciding if he should be a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. Nowi was maybe a house elf?

Yes, this is accurate. I feel like Gryffindors are over-represented in the shepherds. Owain, Cynthia, Kjelle, Basilio, Vaike…… all Gryffindor. Laurent and Miriel are Ravenclaw.  Stahl and Lissa are Hufflepuffs. Tharja is a Slytherin. Anna is a Slytherin. 

I have a hard time placing Gaius. Opinions?

Eclectic anon - Gaius is a hufflepuff. Evidence: loves food, not offended by anything, saves random girls' dads he was forced to screw over, ok with stealing but doesn't like to actually hurt people. Also being a Weasly explains why he refuses to objectify women. No way Molly would let him grow up sexist!

omg i love this…. gaius is smol hufflepuff bby who lives in the kitchens and befriends all the house elves to get extra desert…. i bet he+fred+george totally take advantage of the fact that other houses think hufflepuffs are squishy; it’s a lot easier to play pranks on people who let their guard down around you. stahl is also a hufflepuff!

Eclectic anon here. Gaius has red hair. His clothes are really old and he almost certainly didn't buy them. He must be a Weasley.

omg yes Gaius’ personality would fit in so well with the Weasleys!! With so many siblings, it makes sense that he’s had to learn to fend for himself somewhat/no one would notice if he slinks off to steal Percy’s desert.

I also kind of want this for him??  because, while his backstory in Awakening isn’t super well-developed, we know that he did not have a lot of resources. I personally think that that his conversations with Maribelle indicate he did not have a family or safety net from a relatively young age.  If he’d had Molly and Arthur as his parents…. well, they might not have had a lot to go around, but he would have always had food, and love, and people to turn to when things got difficult. 

DAMMIT now I want to write this…. I’m picturing him as being older than Ron but younger than the twins… Fred and George would take him under their wing and have him steal stuff to facilitate their pranks… Molly would teach him to bake… Charlie would help him sort out his babygay feelings… But this raises so many questions!! Would he be a Gryffindor? (Is Chrom Harry? There are some strong parallels there.)
