i think just in general people are forgetting that scar is not....... kind most of the time. he's cunning and vicious, he enjoys playing the villain. everything he does comes with strings, every action with consequences, he is fixated on remembering, even writing down those who wronged him. he scammed half of the fandom into having a false sense of security. i am 17 and AFRAID of sabrina scarpenter. /c

you're insane (/pos) for transcribing this entire clip like this god bless you. you're so right btw i did only just realize he truly was calling out the difference between the desert duo and renchanting dynamics.. as for grian lore, i can't remember what exactly martyn has said about that, but he has always stressed that grian is the same kind of higher being that the watchers/listeners are, and has even said in the stream today that he has the same powers (albeit weaker). so i would say yes, he also feeds on emotions? but again i could totally be wrong, its been SO long since i watched martyn's lore streams.. tbh im thinking of rewatching them all and taking extensive notes

So you've been keeping up with SB's streams. I'm not much of a stream watcher (I prefer things to be edited down) so I wanted to know. Have you seen SB's latest LS video...? (On his second channel) I want some spoilers! Did SB leave anything major out of the video? Any interesting differences between the video and the stream? I wanna know!

so i took a million years to reply to this because you sent it at a point where i wasn't able to keep up with both the streams and video... i can Definitely say that yes there are soooo many differences between sb's streams and his videos, even the ones on the sb737+ channel that are essentially just stream highlights

sb LOVES to cut out him being pathetic and dumb (/affectionate) and also, due to the way he tries to structure his narratives, he usually doesn't focus as much on his relationships with other server members in his videos. HOWEVER!!! dude if you watch a stream? he's literally ALWAYS on about somebody. usually rekrap2, or clownpierce. occasionally pili. there was a lot of princezam obsession in the final arc of season 7 too

that guy is so codependent and you would literally never guess it just from his videos. oh and also last season he was going to completely hide his whole "fake rekrap2 betrayal" plan from the yt viewers 😭 that plot point didn't end up happening, but im not trusting this guy as far as i can throw him in season 8 (Key Note: i can't throw him very far)

i need to study for my finals so i'm rewatching dl. the food thing makes even more sense when you remember that after grian dropped the dripstone on scar to confront him about their link he asked "i need food so badly, scar, please tell me you got food" and scar says "oh i just ate both pieces of steak". i know they would still heal to full, that mechanic-wise it doesn't matter who ate it and it's such an insignificant detail BUT STILL. at the start of the game no one has food and bigb shared that with him and scar didn't and THEN scar sighs and says "do we need to base together??". grian is so much stronger than me i would kms.

YEAH you get it!! it does say a lot that scar didn't share. he wasn't thinking about grian. and it does sort of feel like a lot of it is scar being stuck in the past, where his dynamic with grian existed squarely in the territory of "grian takes care of me." except even in 3rd life with the life debt, grian still wanted to be taken care of (see post triple kill, where grian asks scar to protect him.. crazy that he cuts that out btw).

and then scar not only doesn't take care of him after finding out they're soulmates, but immediately after that he runs off in the middle of grian pouring his heart out to go take two and a half hearts of damage to a panda for funsies... like i'm sorry but he did NOT care about grian at this point..

him asking "do we have to base together?" was so heart wrenching after grian spent the last part of his session building up bases and farms and calling it theirs. everything he built was with scar in mind, and with the inevitability that scar would be there with him. he put a lot of work into it because you know, physically taking care of his people and having something tangible to show for it is important to him. and scar immediately goes ughhhh do we HAVE to .. oh I'd go crazy
