Yeah, honestly I have to agree in the way the ships in ASOOT were handle wasn't the best; I think maybe instead have them spread out a bit more with some of them instead of all happening in season 1 in regards to the Cuddle Puddle (I would of been okay with Hajime, Chiaki and Mikan as there was build up while I think Hibiki should been save for the start of season 2), especially for those like Sonia, Gundham and Hiyoko who felt was pretty random/happen way too quickly which season 2 did try to fix a bit but yeah, I can get why people felt it was rush.

I think Hotel Akane was okay as the development was happening and I don't see an issue with it as I felt that was handle pretty well, same with Nagito/Kanata and Makoto/Iroha were also great plus the build-up for Kazuichi/Chihiro is handle super well too.

So yeah, maybe if ASOOT did have a re-write, I do think a lot of the issues in regards to romance would of been fix.

//I agree. When people say "ASOOT ships feel rushed" it really translates to "The Cuddle Puddle wasn't handled well at all." Because while I made this very clear in my Season 1 Retrospective, I didn't agree with a lot of the people in the Cuddle Puddle.

What is ASOOT?

ASOOT stands for A Student Out of Time and its a Askblog run by Mod Bubbles. The plot is that Hajime Hinata travels back in time from the end of Danganronpa 3 to back before everything that goes wrong occurs. Having all his future knowledge, he decides to avert history so the Tragedy never happens.

He is joined by other time travellers who also want to avert history and gains many allies some from the canon series, some from the Another series and some from NWPM/DTFA made by Mod Poi.

I love this askblog and the main reason I made my identity the way I do is to write reviews for it and its numerous arcs. I've been for the past 4 years writing reviews for it, but only recently has this blog been a thing due to Tumblr being Tumblr.

Currently I'm behind on its arcs so don't spoil anything from Dianthus Memory onwards.

I admit I am concerned as I don't know what that version of my sister is up to...in fact I can barely recognise her now. And its clear she's up to something...

But at the end of the day I have you, I have Suka, I have Haji, Aki, Gunny and all the others around to protect me from whatever Kanade throws at me.

Heck I'm also a Ronin now so if Kanade thinks she can take me out she's got another thing coming!

I think that the main reason why Tsumugi was so hated in ASOOT was, besides the fact that she would turn the Quantum Crew's grandkids into mockeries of what they once were, kill god knows how many people with her killing games, and being in general an horrible excuse of a human being, that her actions in the future where she wasn't killed would have essentially made the Quantum Crew's efforts to stop the Ultimate Despair and create a better future all for nothing, in the process creating a world worse than the one the time travelers left in the Tragedy Timeline.

And I consider the Team Danganronpa Timeline worse then the Tragedy Timeline because yes the latter is bad but its the apocalypse, you expect the world to be a shithole. In the Team Danganronpa timeline though live just carries on but stagnating and basically everyone is living in misery.

I know Bubbles keeps saying Team Danganronpa runs underground killing game shows, but honestly I think these are more in public and life is so miserable that any teenagers that act up are thrown into the Killing Games. We already know Tsumugi hates the youth so the world will be a real gerontocracy where the lives of the youth suck.

We keep worrying about Extinction Events or X-Risks as they are sometimes known, but in reality we need to worry more about S-Risks or Astronomical Suffering Events. The Tragedy in a way was more of a X Risk but the Team Danganronpa Timeline is a S Risk where all of humanity is exactly as deprived as Tsumugi is as chances are she written the entire human psychology to be exactly like them.

This is why we fear dystopias so much because they are much worse then dying out.
