Directrix, a government-owned titan, used to be a weather and communications titan, before he was transferred to the Special Operations division headed by Prowl. To the influence of Mesothulas who begged him to let him experiment on titans, Prowl created Project Overmind as one of the various projects that sought to find anything that will give the Autobots an edge in the upcoming war. Directrix, was the 7th and last titan to be experimented on under Project Overmind, enhancing his innate titan ability for telepathic communication to a point where it allows him to invade the minds of Cybertronians, ultimately giving him control of their frames (Usurp ability). With the success of this project, Prowl immediately took control, using Directrix to track and eliminate key targets via Usurp ability, all to prevent an all out war from happening.

But for Directrix, a titan who was maternal in nature, what Prowl orders him to is an affront to everything a titan is, one who deeply cared for their inhabitants, who treasures life and values their happiness. So for a titan to be forced to do the unthinkable brings him pain, sorrow, and immense guilt, struggling with all these as well as the crushing loneliness that this project brought. Titans thrived in the company of their inhabitants afterall.

But of course, would he choose the demise of billions over his own unbearable torment? It was to prevent the war, they said. It was for the Cause.
