HEAR THE AA SIDE OF FRIENDLY FIRES & WEATHERALL'S LATEST SINGLE

Wow!  The AA side of the 'Fires and Asphodells latest single is not what we would have expected.  Yes, there are definite echoes of The Asphodells, but the guitar groove and krauty stylings were not what we were prepared to hear.

'Velo' is the AA side to their new single due out at the end of the month.  This thing sprawls out at 9 minutes, with heavier riffing and a more definite guitar presence...what a treat! 

Take a listen below...and definietly buy the single when it comes out on the 31st.

FRIENDLY FIRES & ASPHODELLS - BEFORE YOUR EYES

Not exactly the most compelling Friendly Fires track but at least they're making something.

Friendly Fires & The Asphodells--"Before Your Eyes"

Friendly Fires, sounding so different!  It is kind of this feel good indie pop combined with surf-rock-esque guitars.  The vocals are exactly as the tag soundcloud says--hypnotic.

According to their soundcloud, "at some point in 2013, Friendly Fires, Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J Fairplay (aka The Asphodells), convened in an east London pub to discuss collaborating on new music together. The plan was to produce music that came from a place outside of their respective usual musical styles - a loose, open-ended process embarked upon for the pure joy of experimentation and collaboration rather than a specific end goal."

This song and another, Velo, is going to be released on a 12” AA single, as well as on download.  The songs will be the first release on Friendly Fires’ new label, Telophase.
