how to survive assessment week
-keep your notes neat and organised: for me, reading over neater notes feels refreshing and less repetitive, and it's easier to take in/revise information
-take care of yourself. Seriously. Stay hydrated (I find that having a water bottle with me/within my immediate field of vision allows me to find myself mindlessly sipping it, soooo), get enough sleep- I highly recommend actually using the 'bedtime' function you can find in Clock on iPhones, and make sure you're eating enough healthy food. Also, shower. Refreshing your body refreshes your mind.
-keep your study space clean: allow yourself ten minutes when you get home after school to declutter/tidy your room. It'll be so much easier to focus on work if you aren't distracted by mess.
-make sure to track and stay on top of assessments/assignments: write! down! those! due! dates! If you can't write them down in a school diary/bullet journal/other planner, I recommend finding study apps where you can record that information and it sends you a notification to remind you to study. I'm currently trying out an app called "P. Schedule" (personal schedule)
-allow yourself time to relax and unwind
-schedule your studying and breaks in blocks so that you're not overwhelmed by having to concentrate on schoolwork 100% of the time
-if you're studying in the library, make sure to actually study while there. Pack yourself a bag of necessities (eg. laptop, notebook, pencilcase, headphones, a water bottle and a filling snack) and actually dedicate your time to studying, because just being in the library won't automatically help you.
-try out different study methods, eg. using flash cards, recording yourself saying information and listening to that on the bus/train, USING PAST PAPERS, rewriting notes, study groups, etc.
-don't cram right before the exam, I find that just makes me unnecessarily stressed. Instead, i take deep breaths (I have anxiety and find the square breathing method very helpful), listen to either my favourite bands or my "breathe" playlist depending on my levels of anxiety, make sure I'm feeling okay (hydrated, not hungry), go to the bathroom, refill my drink bottle, etc. Above all, REMAIN CALM.
-remind yourself that you are a confident and sassy bitch (we stan a queen) and hey, you got this!

Today was the continuation of Assessment Week. We were issued a sheet detailing the amount of work we were have meant to completed by the end of this semester. At the beginning of the day, we were shown a video as an example of work that one of the students from the second year had completed. It was very peaceful and serene to observe, and very well put together.
On Friday, set everything ready in your studio space for assessment week.
On Monday, come in to collect some of your supplies and find three of your prints mysteriously missing.
Tell the staff and calmly reprint those prints, because you are not going to be deterred by mischief.

Assessment Week Rules for Sage
1. You will spend the week in my room. You will sleep there every night.
2. You may do other things during your free time, but let me know where you are going and who you will be with.
3. I expect you to be respectful to all doms, switches and teachers throughout this week. You are my responsibility and I don't want to have to punish you.
4. You will call me sir in public interactions.
5. You will be honest with me. If I find out you are lying or keeping things from me, I will have to punish you. That's seriously my only real rule this week, so please don't break it.
