After an incredible few days at my favourite conference, I was so blessed to sit with two of my favourite women in the sports world: @moore1luv and @qis_mo and talk about the issues and challenges facing women in sports. One is a brilliant athlete activist who has become my little sister. The other is an educator, organizer and change-maker who champions diversity and inclusion- this panel was Michelle's vision. Amplifying the voices of Muslim women in sports and sports media on a platform like #SXSW doesn't happen often. I am so thankful our months of collaboration worked out- even if I lost my voice and croaked through. Still managed to yell at a man asking inane questions about what Muslim women wear during sports. I love these two women so dearly. I was also blown away by the love of my Muslim friends and sports fam who came out to support.
