Why have I been seeing so many dwarf planet discourse posts lately. Did something happen in the past 24 hours. Did Pluto make a statement

Above all I believe the most vile thing about these AI chatbots is how incredibly predatory they are. like it’s their whole thing, it is openly the basis of their marketing plan

the userbase for these has always been largely very lonely kids, being fed the idea that it’s Fine! if they don’t have anyone real to turn to in their lives, because at least they can talk to their favorite character from that one videogame, their tv show fictional crush, or worse yet Actual Replicas Of Existing People if they want wrt that one "me making my mutuals on shapesinc" ad.

it’s Okay! if you have no means for proper human connection, because now you have a water-guzzling calculator wearing the face of your OC that’s programmed specifically to be sooo fun to talk to, to never say anything that might upset you; that same principle that has ended up having these chatbots encouraging suicide, sometimes succesfully. because the target userbase is lonely kids who’ve accepted this as their only desirable alternative.

It should go without saying but a calculator that’s made to act more like how you’d want a friend to is still a calculator, just more malicious. This shit pisses me off bad

Hey even with how bleak things are looking, in spite of all the doom and gloom I really do appreciate seeing all those people on my dash telling each other to just not lose hope. because you have to keep fighting to do the right thing, even when everything else is against you. before anything else that means living, and above all that means being there for the people around you. america, the world, we have to live through this and every other hardship, and we will, like people always have ; stay safe and be kind

i haven't seen anyone really bring this up. Understandably so, because chapter 4 doesn't have a lot of new relevant darkner characters save for Gerson and Jack, who are both outliers to this anyway, but i cant stop thinking about it

Being a sanctuary darkner has got to be so funny ok. there's this fucked up prophecy that no other darkner met so far save for ralsei knows Jack shit about, and that lightners only have a very vague understanding of, and you just have that shit written on every other wall around you. the heroes of legend are real and they're TEENAGERS and you don't connect the dots until the very last second. your world(s) just started existing today and there's a fucking titan also from the legend that just got born [we can see it DID destroy a lot of shit in the short time it was alive, even left a mess in the light world knocking some shit over, so like... they were right there]. when the heroes save the day and recruit you to their castle town everyone else there knows these guys [mostly the blue human] Not as heroes but as Hey Kris Remember When We Played Toys [I Was The Toy]
