Yes, the weather was absolutely terrible. Malcolm was not comfortable with his wife being in the hospital when the weather hit so he’d asked his son to go pick her up so the family could be together. Ashton was glad, he’d spent a lot more time with his father at the house than he had in years and it felt so nice to know his father wanted to be around her again. Especially after Ashton had gone around the town and asked all of the bars and the liquor stores to ban his mother and she’d asked to start on AA. The weather was pretty bad but it didn’t seem like it was going to get any worse But still, he asked Kaia to come with him, worried about being alone nd maybe he was a bit worried about her being alone too. They had picked Leanne up together, on their way to get back to the house when the weather had picked up.

“We need to stop.” He’d told them. The car felt like it was going to lift off of the ground and flip, and Ashton didn’t feel comfortable with continuing on. So The Garden was the first place on the way home he’d seen. Parking the car, the three of them headed inside together to sit down - away from windows - and wait it out. The weather was getting worse and as far as Ashton was concerned, at least he had his mother and Kaia with him. Being alone would have made this a million times worse. “Hey,” He said to the both of them, “I know this is kinda freaky but it’ll pass. WE should be able to make it home in time. You guys have me here, you’re safe.” He told them, nodding as he tried to be serious. “I’m a big strong man and I can protect my girls. Even from a big scary storm. We’ll be good. You guys wanna order some food while we’re here?” He was always hungry and the both of them knew he ate and joked when he was nervous. He couldn’t hide from either of them.

Liv was nervous to return home after the hurricane. She hoped her house didn’t sustain much damage, because she had no idea how to go about fixing anything. Her husband, well ex-husband, used to handle those things. And she knew it could get expensive, which worried her. Her income wasn’t exactly the most stable at the moment, considering she hadn’t been at the ballet studio much since Lucas was still a newborn. When she got home and found that she had a couple broken windows, some shingles blown off the roof, and slight siding damage, she felt overwhelmed and was unsure of what steps to take next. Then, she remembered Jared’s message so she asked him if he could stop by. “Thank you so much for coming on such short notice,” Liv said as she opened the door. “I hate asking for help, but I don’t know what to do about this storm damage.”

The pressure change in the air along with the downpour of rain hitting along the roof and windows did not help matters as Spencer leaned against a wall at Iron Fitness.  Right now, he was mentally cursing Thea for the night out drinking even if he wanted to have a wild night doing their usual shenanigans.  The question that really remained is how the hell she talked him into coming to the gym before a storm where he would have to face his older cousin with a massive hangover.  With his head pulsing, he called out to his cousin who was probably having way too much fun at his expense.  “Yeah, yeah you try saying no to killer legs Thea.”  Spencer’s eyes shifted towards the woman far enough to be out of hearing range as he commented to his cousin.  “The least you could do is...I dunno fetch me a cup of water and some pills man.  I think you are taking too much pleasure in my misery.”

Location: Aero Cocktail Bar Who: Closed Starter w/ @mackenzie-callahan​

Kip was drenched. It had been a short run from her car into the bar, but with the way the rain was coming down, it had soaked her to the bone. Kip had stripped off her sweatshirt and luckily the t-shirt she wore underneath was mostly dry. She hoped that’d help with the chill she had. As she looked around the bar, she noticed a few people she recognized, instantly feeling a sense of dread when she saw Jack and Monty. She tried to avoid Jack as much as she could around town, and she knew he did the same with her. Things had never been the same since she’d broken his heart back in their senior year. And as for Monty...well, she figured it was just best if she stayed away from him. She wasn’t a great liar to begin with, and with the way he made her all tongue tied and flustered? She didn’t want anything to slip out. At least there was Kenzie at the bar. The blonde made her way to a stool and hopped up, looking at her friend.

“I’m a panicked mother away from her kid during said kid’s first hurricane. Alcohol. I need it. I beg of you. Surprise me with something good.” She sighed and rested her head on her hand.

The second the warning had been announced, the Landakers had leapt into action. Always the prepared family, they had plans for almost any sort of natural disaster and were ready to go in order to keep everyone safe. Hugh’s dad had picked up his grandmother and her medication and emergency bag as quick as he could then took her back to his parents. The Rosewood Hills house was old and not very well equipped to handle anything more than a minor disaster. Hugh’s childhood home was much better equipped to keep the family safe in the face of danger. This left Hugh to stay behind and get a few things settled before following his father and grandmother. Once he had shut off the electricity and water, put some extra things in the safe (only to be done if the threat wasn’t imminent of course), tossed some extra food and water in the trunk, and gotten his own emergency bag, he got in his car and started the short drive to his parents house. Everything had been going smoothly when he saw a strange movement on the side of the road. Hugh squinted to see what it was while the rain poured. The silhouette of a cat came into clear view. The poor thing seemed to be limping, searching for shelter under the rain, a small collar barely visible. Without a second thought, Hugh pulled onto the side of the road, jumped out of his vehicle, and grabbed the cat. With the cat in his arms he went back into his vehicle. The rain was not going to let up, and he knew he was running out of time if he wanted to make it to his parents. He couldn’t be certain his parents were equipped to deal with another cat with their other animals. The animal clinic was on the way to his parent’s place. If Samantha was there she could take in the cat, and if not Hugh would chance it and bring it with him. It would be a quick stop and he could get to his parents place in time, surely.

He continued driving and pulled into the parking lot of the clinic. The cat - Clover, when he had checked the collar, had shaken off as much water as she could but was still shivering as she laid quietly in the passenger seat. Hugh picked up Clover and bundled her in his rain coat as he ran inside. The doors were bolted shut. Gently banging on the glass, he called for Sam. “Sammi! Are you in there? It’s Hugh!”

The moment where the winds hit strongly against the gym, caused a few damaged and the glassed threw the air causing a few of the ones in it getting hurt. The mood quickly changes around them, they were all trying to help to resolve things so the gym wouldn’t flood, Phillip helped Jared clean the wounds of his brother, Thea, and Spencer. They weren’t safe, the storm was hearing stronger and scarier outside and all they could do was to wait and stay inside.

Phillip went to find a few clean and dry towels, he next to Spencer “Hey man, how are you doing?” He extended a dry towel and a bottle of water with a power bar, cause that’s all he could find to eat. “This is all I found, it's not much but hey at least it’s supposed to give you energy, right?”

Location: Somewhere in the road Who: ​ @willaharrington​ – closed

Don had been walking nonstop for hours, every second that passed that they didn’t have any real clue of Elanur’s location, Donovan for more stressed out. How could he face her mother again, if he would fail her? He was ready to keep going but he could see his dog was in need on a break and Sammy was a big part of the search since there was no better way than to search her.

He sat down putting a small container with water so the dog could hydrate and rest a for a moment before keep in of the search. He smiled at his dog patting her and thanking her for doing an amazing job. Even if they were taking some time to find the one he wanted to find the most, Sammy has done an amazing job with so many others.

Donovan sighed, he was not very much of prayer but he thought he just needed all the help they could to find Eleanur, cause he needed to do it, she was his anchor to the earth. He was in a oddly silence to anyone who knew Don, but that’s when he heard someone getting close by with food. “Hey, you didn’t have to I was about to go out and get it”

Home.

It had been raining for about an hour. The soles of his shoes slapped against the deck as he hopelessly boarded up what he could of his home. Realistically he’d known for days that the hurricane was coming, but he foolishly hoped that the hurricane would change course. Now there wasn’t much he could do to save the only home he had since coming back to Asteria. He packed a couple photos and valuables he’d collected but the rest was left. He could almost pretend that when this was over he would come back and nothing would change.

With his pack over his back, and long hair sticking to his forehead and the back of his neck in the doorway he made one more last look at his temporary home. The wind was picking up a bit in burst. The waves rocked the boat harshly, but he’d gotten used to keeping his balance. Rain pelted against his back then returned to just a trickle before picking up again but AJ still couldn’t leave. It wasn’t much, but it had worked for him. He’d been more comfortable here than he thought he’d be. He didn’t need that much space after spending 12 years in small cell but he didn’t think he’d be able to sleep without the gentle rocking he started to grow used to.

Suddenly he couldn’t abandon his home without leaving a part of him to go down with it. AJ grabbed a jar of paint from one of the cabinets and poured the paint over his hand and hastily slapped the print over the top of the door. Stepping back, he let a few tears slip and disappear with the rain pouring down his face as he realized that he didn’t know what was going to happen next.

The sirens were finally what had managed to get him to move. He’d wasted enough time and now he needed to find somewhere safe out of the rain and wind that was picking up more and more. Some burst propelled him forward until he was practically tripping over his feet to keep his footing, threatening to send him over the dock and into the tremulous water below him.

Through the howling of the wind he heard panicked meowing coming from behind the crab cages and quickly uncovered the docks usually ornery stray, pitifully cowering against the rain and wind, seemingly frozen in fear. AJ dropped his pack and pulled a couple items out, mentally weighing the value of a couple trinkets compared to the life of the stray cat who, if he was being honest, never liked him. His hesitation didn’t last long. He dumped a couple of his belongings on the ground, scooped up the stray and zipped her snugly into his pack before getting up to once again try to find shelter.

He initially thought to find shelter at the hospital, his mother was there. Maybe she didn’t know what was happening and maybe that was for the best, but he couldn’t help wanting to be close to her when he would inevitably lose everything else in a few hours. But the hospital was across town, and the sirens ringing meant he didn’t have much time before it got much much worse.
