Astral Flight
So, in the astral, is it normal to be able to change forms? Some people say you can be whatever you want... Some people specify which species are shape shifting, and which aren't. Does that make humans shape shifting, or is it something only a few can do?
“We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls." -Anaïs Nin-
Hi hope youre doing well. I was wondering if you had some good tips on astral traveling? Im feeling a bit stuck at this point.
So I hear this a lot, and sometimes it’s your own pressure that’s keeping you grounded.
Think about why you want to astral, what is it really accomplishing you can’t do other ways?
For some people it’s like playing a video game. You get stuck on a level and try and try and try and just can’t win. So you stop, try other stuff, have fun, grow and then randomly try it again and boom. First try you’ve done it.
Other option is if you have a witchy friend who can, have them do a flight with you and help coax you through it. Break the seal as it were.
If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. Don’t stress too much about it.

Do you have any tips on the whole"astral travel isn't astral projection" thing? The difference is really confusing me but I think that I'm interested in the projection? I'm sorry if this is a badly worded ask. I'm a newbie :) thanks so much!!!
No worries, it does get confusing.
Astral travel is pretty much just you interacting with the astral, liminal spaces and yourself.
Projection on the other hand is from what I’ve seen explained, interacting with others in...our plane. Or the real world. Some people also equate projection with bi-location and I think that’s a stretch, though I suppose the concept is similar?
Now, based on my views and experience, hag riding falls under projection. Granted it’s seen as baneful magic, but it’s one of my go to’s for social justice, or adjusting the way social niceties have been...crossed. Also small blessings for friends, controlling a dream for benefit rather than malfeasance. It’s harder than travel. Travel for me is much more go with the floor, it’s a balance of passive and active, majority passive and that might be just my personality. Projection and specifically hag riding is much more active much more involved and it can be a bit tiring.
So my advice is start with travel, and as you become more acclimated to it and the sensations, start taking the reigns a bit more and work towards projection. Leave small clues or hints for yourself to validate the experience. Scents, themes etc to see if people mention them in their dreams. It’s like playing a double agent, your doing your thing but in the waking and normal world, you’re just you. Play to your strengths, go with your gut, and repeat your results to verify it’s actually working.
Especially with astral stuff, it’s majority UPG, so it’s up to you to determine what is reality and what wa stop much sugar before bed.
