               Shepard,

   Don’t know why I’m telling you this, maybe it’s because I know this galaxy had a damn good chance of being blown up by the morning and I wanna get it off my chest.

    For a long time, I was so fucking angry with you for letting Vido get away.  I debated on dropping the mission with the Collectors all together to track him down myself and give him the death he deserved.  

    But now that I look back, I see where you were coming from. 

    I’ve come to terms with the fact that it was one of the only selfless moves I’ve ever made in my life, and I’m…kindathankfulforyou.

    If we make it outta this alive, you better come to the beach house for some drinks and a barbecue.  You gotta try Jessie out, she’s good as new now.

"NIHLUS!" She didn’t think he heard him. She couldn’t hear herself. The singularity made everything so quiet, so very quiet. It was numbing and needles, sensory overload and deprivation at the same time. At least until that face, that screeching abomination, appeared in front of her and everything outside the singularity disappeared.

She may have screamed, but she wasn’t sure. Nothing was making sense. Not until the the sounds of a shotgun rang out, and the world returned with a roar. It overwhelmed her, but the warmth and the strength of someone around her told her over-stimulated mind that she was safe.

She came to awareness with shaking limbs and terrified green eyes searching hers. "Nihlus..?"

He exhaled raggedly, pressing his forehead to hers, though he didn't realize what he was doing until after the fact.

Ah, well, humans didn't know what that meant to turians... She wouldn't understand it.

"Thank the Spirits," Nihlus murmured breathlessly. The high of his adrenaline rush was fading fast, and exhaustion began to set in. Thankfully, there were no more reaper forces in range, so now would be the perfect time to recuperate. "Are you-- You're, Astrid, are you okay?" As much as he craved her proximity, just to know she was alive, he pulled back to look her injured body over, surveying any damage.
