Okay so unlike with BTS and Monsta X there wasn't really a "song that made me stan" with Astro. I didn't happen to hear a song and be like "oh I should get into this group" my situation was that I had already decided I wanted to stan when I actively went looking for them because someone I knew told me her favorite group was Astro and I decided to stan them so I could have something to talk about with her (which I've already talked all about here)
Of course from the very first MV (Hide & Seek naturally) I watched when I first started looking into them I fell in love at first sight/sound and that decision to stan was only solidified, but yeah
And of course I COULD spend 100,000 words gushing about Hide & Seek bc she is my queen and I will love her until the day I die. But I know I already talk about her way to much and I feel like it would only be humane to you guys if I talk about something else. lmao 😂
Another thing is that there were only ~20ish days between me first getting into Astro and when All Light dropped and I did spend most of that time watching guides and learning about the boys and listening to mostly the title tracks (and of course when All Light dropped that's all I listened to for like. 2 months) so I had definitely LISTENED to their full discography during those first few weeks and I had at least HEARD all of their b-sides. But I hadn't spent too much time and thought into actually trying to pick out 'hmmm what are some of my favorite b-sides' ya know??
Anyway I had a super hard time picking which song to do for this post. Bc like. Astro has produced nothing but bops their whole careers?? It's very tough to pick just one to talk about
I was like "well I love all the titles but I wanna shine a light on something that isn't a title track" and then I was like "hmmm maybe 붙잡았어야 해?? technically it is a title but it doesn't have an MV....." (plus it was a song that I really latched onto in particular and I watched the dance practice a million times and watching Rocky in that video is the first thing that made me fall in love with him 👀 so yeah that song does have a special place in my heart 💗) but I decided to try to actually pick a b-side bc they have so many lovely b-sides that don't get talked about as much
And then I was like "well I could talk about one of my favorite b-sides from All Night..." because I definitely had some clear favorite b-sides from All Night (since I was just listening to the same 10 songs on repeat for days on end, meaning I was hearing the same songs multiple times a day and it was much easier to pick out favorite b-sides from one album then trying to pick out favorite b-sides from all of their older discography you know?) But I was like "I wanna try to pic something from their earlier days just cause, people have talked about the songs on All Night enough this year, let's talk about something from one of their mini albums"
Anyway
Yeah I had a tough time picking (물들어 and Morning Call were 2 other really close candidates so SO to them!)
I picked Fireworks because it makes me feel really nostalgic. Even tho I wasn't an Aroha when it first came out in 2016 it still makes my heart so warm to see a performance from back then and see how young they look but how talented they were even back then! And they've come so far since then too!!!! I just 🤧💗💗💗
And Rocky choreographed it! He did such a good job I'm so proud of him 💗
I love both Rocky and Jinjin's raps in it
And Sanha's pre-chorus (is it part of the chorus? Idek) part? Gosh his voice is literally so angelic I'm so proud of my lil babey string bean 🤧💗💗💗
Like they all sound so beautiful! Eunwoo's stripped down opening at the beginning before the instrumentals really come in??? And Bin's sounds so good on the verses
And the "I can fly, make you smile" part just??? Yeah you can MJ!!! You 6 always make me smile so much even when I'm having a hard time and I feel so happy to have become a fan of you guys and I feel so blessed to have had this past year of stanning and now I'm getting emo ajdjksla
Plus!!!! something I didn't even notice until today when I was watching videos and looking up lyrics today to try to make a decision about what song I wanted to write about today, this is Rocky's last rap part:

Because I feel like it was such a blessing in my life "meeting" Astro like that last year (and because of them I've been blessed to meet so many amazing friends!!!!)
