People should recognize that killing astrotrain in Skybound is like- no different from how Trailbreaker died in mtmte, or terminus, or nightbeat, or ten, or rewind #1, or skids for that matter

That doesn't mean i think its poorly written [outside of rewind] but there really isn't much of a difference between the deaths of idw and the deaths of skybound especially if you actually sit down and read stuff outside of mtmte.

Astrotrain clearly served a purpose being to help emphasize megatron as a threat and define his methodology for handling his troops

I know people want Blitzwing to be Astrotrain’s love in Skybound, but I’d rather he was you know, alive.

G1 cartoon Astrotrain has the best feet, because he has non it's just fucking stubs or what I like to call them hoofs I think they are cute. Or Tfp Shockwave for the best feet award they are also hoof like with the split in the middle but they are more interesting looking and have kinda of heels in the back. Hot.

when both earthspark and skybound came out in 2023, i preferred earthspark more than skybound and did not try to catch up on skybound after issue 15. i vowed to never read again after astrotrain's death! i was loyal to the show despite earthspark's fall off in season 2. earthspark was my messy baby! it still has potential!

cut to december 5, 2025. earthspark's nothingburger finale made me reread skybound and i learned how to appreciate the comic. it may be rushed but the quality is better. earthspark is the megumi fushiguro potential man of 2020s transformers.

Honestly the only reason I started to read skybound was for Astrotrain but after his death I dropped it and haven't picked it up again after. I was very bitter towards the comic series for a long time and still am even when I'm trying not to like I don't feel happy at all that we getting an animated series based on them even tho two years ago I would be pissing myself happy. From some takes from here I might actually start reading it again its nice to hear other peoples perspective. My bitterness surprisses me I'm not a type of person to feel sad or angry over my fav dying but its just the way he died that pissed me off not that he's dead like we all knew he's not surviving Megatron lol but they could at least made their fight cool😔

Skybound Astrotrain is most likely joining the "wasted T-C character" team. There is maybe a 2% chance that they will do smth about him despite his death (maybe even the good ol' ,,After a miraculous rescue..."!), but Hasbro and *most* of the writers don't care about triple-changers regardless of how cool they, as a concept, actually are, so

I shall repeat it after a few other people: there is too much of those typical TFs... and other characters should get some spotlight

Like, no, Bumblebee, the mere car, being faster than literal jets is not boo-hoo amazing, that's the most lame-aah Autobot plot armor. Meanwhile media like Skybound is a wee biased even towards the *main* 'Cons (patting Megan and Screamer on their helmets). Therefore, the point is that everything's too biased towards such characters from that no. 1 group aaand making the others be like canon fodder is quite sad in certain cases, lol.

Also, since I am kinda on a similar topic and got reminded of Octane (the one who appears the least out of the Decepticon T-C trio 💀) Imma mention IDW, lol. I am a Beast Machines fan in addition to that, and the ,,big Tankor and small Tankor :]" stuff was lowkey cringy to me :v (however, Obsidian <3)

Now speaking in general, not even gonna mention the Autobot T-Cs 💀

No offense but "Astrotrain's death is needed to show Megatron's methodology of handling his troops" is such a lame excuse to prove that Astrotrain wasn't "wasted" in this comic.

Megatron forcing Starscream, one of the insubordinates to kill another one is such an old trope that all I see is a standard villain for children and teenagers. Also, we don't need to see that execution of Astrotrain to "learn" about his methodology of keeping troops and his brutal and evil nature. Previous issues gave us enough to make a deduction of who Megatron is. I guess y'all just want to see Megatron doing evil shits, which is valid, but any Decepticons can be in Astrotrain's place and it wouldn't change the outcome. The bullshit that pulled on Astrotrain literally distracted me from giving a fuck about Megatron and his standard evil-doing shits that I simply don't see him messed-up or brutal at all.
