👫 for athena & demitri!

because of demitri's ridiculous schedule (school + job + research), they actually do most of their dates as like breakfast dates! bakeries or whatever, coffee, etc. in the summer it's easier to take normal dates

the first time athena comes to demitri's bar after their weird first morning thing, several coworkers pull him aside to be like "is this a rebound sitch orrrrr" and he's like "i have no idea what you're talking about" because he's clueless in that department

he tries to explain to her the topic of his research several times before she's like "stop it you're ruining the fun of listening to music for me"

but on the flip side they also have a really good time at concerts together bc they do have similar tastes

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Truly, Nari has trouble dealing with most emotions. She is a very apathetic, detached person and I don’t think it comes from a willful place. Cami, for example, is a genuinely emotional person who has repressed them all on purpose. Nari is emotionally repressed, even more than Camille is, but they don’t fester inside her and spill over. She’s unaware of just how emotionally unstable she is which is why the point where she finally breaks is going to be absolute carnage. It’s going to be a manifestation of realizing everything you’ve ever been capable of and denying any semblance of control you’ve forced yourself to submit to all at once.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

I don’t think she has any. She’s very diligent, very hardworking, but she’s also got no ending in sight. Her ambition isn’t directed towards something, it’s just who she is. She’s a workaholic who doesn’t care about work, an obsessed artist who doesn’t care about being recognized for her art—she’s just obsessed with her art. In a way, it’s almost more dangerous than having that final goal to work towards because she has no sense of perspective. She’s willing to go farther than most people ever would for the smallest thing, whereas anyone else might pick and choose the lines they want to cross. Nari isn’t interested in choosing.

🪤 MOUSE TRAP - what will always lure them into certain danger? a loved one in danger? a promise of something they are always searching for?

I think a part of Nari will always like whatever danger can bring and she genuinely gets a thrill from it. But aside from her having a death wish and kind of wanting to die just 95% of the time, 

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

She's disgustingly careless with who she trusts if they're able to have a strong enough effect on her. It's a side effect of the naïveté, being able to hand herself over to someone without a second thought because they've enchanted her, not realizing they're holding a knife to her throat because she's too busy looking at their eyes. One thing about Nari that's so essential to her character is that even though she doesn't care much about people in general, when it comes to the people she loves, nothing else matters to her except them. It's why she's so enamored by Samir because the second she realizes just how essential he's become to her life, she doesn't have to trust anyone else ever again—why would she when she has him? She's no stranger to backstabbing, especially when it comes to her father, considering he had someone killed when he found out they were in a relationship (good riddance, though). Nari, though, wouldn't hesitate to backstab someone. She's not very loyal because she doesn't have any to be loyal to, and even her loyalty to them can waver depending on the circumstances.

💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon

Nari has many issues, primarily revolving around her mental wellbeing. She's almost fragile, a china doll who doesn't know she's capable of being broken because no one's bothered to test her. She's incredibly emotionally neglected and I think a big part of her is grateful for Samir wanting to kill her because it proves that someone would care if she was gone. The fact that he isn't able to kill her because he's too attached to her is even better for her. I don't think Nari is aware of her own existence outside of who she thinks she belongs to because she's only ever been a possession and even that act of belonging to someone isn't enough sometimes. She's got a masochistic streak in that way, or a self-sacrificial lamb at least, willingly putting herself up for the slaughter because she likes the idea of being memorialized, not as a martyr, but as someone's dearly departed.

💔 BROKEN HEART - what could their partner do that would absolutely break their heart?

Turn her away or reject her in any way. Obviously, we're talking about Samir here; there's only ever been one person before him and he was inconsequential—and dead, now. I think, aside from the fact that Samir and Nari are ✨soulmates✨, they've chosen to stay together and they always will no matter what lifetime they're in. I think that's something that Nari resents about their connection to each other, that she feels she has to prove they aren't just together because fate decided so. But Samir is the person who, in Nari's mind, helped shape her. She doesn't consider herself to have been a whole person before him and that's not a good nor healthy thing but it doesn't matter to her. If he were to mold her to his liking, encourage her to embrace any part of her that he brought out, and then turn away from her, I don't think she'd ever be able to recover.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

NOPE LMAO Camille absolutely hates crying in front of people, she thinks it’s the worst kind of weakness you can have. She definitely has a lot of pent up emotional repression which is why she tends to cry so infrequently but when she does cry, it’s because she’s finally reached her breaking point.

🌋 VOLCANO - how bad is their temper? is it a slow boil, or a instant explosion?

She has a very bad temper and she’s a very angry gal. Just like with her sadness, Cami represses a lot of that anger but she’s also very…calm about it, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. She’s quick to get into arguments and quick to yell about trivial things, petty things, things that don’t mean much, but when she’s truly furious, it’s a calm anger where she feels more clear-headed than when she’s sad or frustrated.

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

She used to, not anymore. It’s a big part of her whole character, letting go of the girl she used to be who would follow along with everything her parents ever said, listening obediently to all the rules, or behaving in a way she didn’t agree with because she was told it was “the right way to be”. In general, Cami has a very detached air about her. She doesn’t concern herself much with people she doesn’t care about which is why she found it so hard to adjust around Blake. She didn’t care about him, so in theory, he never should have affected her, but because of circumstances that were out of her control (something Cami has fought very very hard to not be a regular occurrence), she couldn’t help just how deep he got under her skin.

Cami thinks often of her old high school love and, before feelings with Blake got involved, what stopped her from ever reaching out to him after she left her parents was the fear that he would be disappointed in who she became. In Cami’s head, she was her best self when she was with him, someone who was so light and happy and free from the concerns of others. After he left, it was the bitterness towards her parents that drove her rebellion, not an actual desire to be her own person. She knows she could have reached out to him after she graduated high school or during her time in college, but by that time, she was already so full of self-hatred and experiencing such a low point when it came to her self-worth both as an individual and as a partner in whatever relationships she had that she didn’t want to risk seeing his opinion of her change. Now that she’s with Blake, she thinks about him a lot less, but I don’t think he’ll ever be completely far from her mind since he was the catalyst for a lot of who she is now.

💓 BEATING HEART - what gets their heart racing?

I think any time someone challenges her. Camille likes feeling like she’s walking on a knife’s edge, and she also has a lot of pride so any time someone asks her to rise to a challenge or proposes any kind of bet or deal, she feels automatically like she a) wants to prove herself and b) wants to feel like she’s accomplished something. Any time she feels dared, she automatically gets caught in the tension and she’s the type of person to encourage it far enough to see who breaks first.

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

Aaron’s relationship with his family is a bit odd, because he does have a very good relationship with his parents, but it’s not necessarily a…relationship. He’s an only child, his mother got pregnant with him when she was just sixteen, and he never had a very regular childhood considering he went on the road with his parents when he was barely a teenager and hasn’t really had much stability since. His parents aren’t the type to be so open but they do love each other. I wouldn’t say he has the healthiest family—he feels a lot of pressure to live up to the image he’s built in his head of what his parents were like but I think a lot of it is actually projection on Aaron’s part that’s rooted in his own self-doubt. His parents love him a lot but they’ve never been active parental roles in his life, more like guardians that he just happens to call Mom and Dad.

🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - what’s a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

He’s insecure!!! Like, so insecure and unsure of himself and a little self-deprecating but on the complete extreme end. Aaron has had a pretty easygoing life, all things considered, but there is part of him that doesn’t know how to do anything in moderation; he’s an all-or-nothing kind of guy but because he’s also very insecure, he refuses to do anything unless there’s guaranteed success and reciprocation on the exact same level that he’s coming in on. The only exception that he’s ever made for this was his band, which was mainly because his friends pushed him to go through with it with them. But when it comes to feelings, or anything of that matter, he doesn’t know how to take a leap of faith.

📸 CAMERA - do they enjoy having their picture taken? what's their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of?

No lmao, he literally only puts up with it because Willow likes taking his picture (and she also has to for her job).

He’s unsure if he’ll ever be able to do what he wants in any aspect of life, from his band to a relationship. He’s got a lot of self doubt in him and it’s manifested in this sort of rut where he doesn’t know if he can see himself becoming successful or having a long-term relationship with anyone. Part of it is due to the chunks of life that were defined by instability, where he doesn’t know how to settle down or put roots down anywhere or with anyone, but part of it is also the insecurity that leads to that lack of drive because he’s convinced himself nothing could ever come of trying anyway.

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

I think a lot of people get the impression that Aaron is very…apathetic towards most people, but that’s not true at all. He’s just a very private person and he also doesn’t like anything to do with gossip, rumors, secrets, etc. He doesn’t respond to any situation that he knows isn’t 100% reflective of the truth, so while people might take that to mean he’s deflecting or simply apathetic, it’s actually that he doesn’t really bother getting upset or worked up over anything that is either false or has nothing to do with him.

Quality time! It’s why he has been described as clingy more than once by a couple exes.

🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?

Lucille has nearly every childhood keepsake but most importantly, she has all of her journals that she’s been writing in since she was a little girl. They hold just about every feeling she’s ever experienced, from mundane musings of childhood to the feeling of loss as she grows out of girlhood and feels more of the weight of her family’s responsibilities placed on her shoulders. If she were to lose them, she would probably have a bit of a breakdown, honestly; they’re a grounding force for her, something that steadies her when she feels most unbalanced.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

Lucille’s favorite flowers are daisies, so those would be the main centerpiece of the bouquet. There would also be stephanotis, hydrangea flowers, sprigs of lavender, and marsdenia.

📖 OPEN BOOK - do they like reading? what's their favourite genre?

She loves reading. It’s one of her favorite pastimes, aside from painting. I don’t really think she’d have a favorite genre, but I think she’d absolutely love the Romantic movement.

Lucille is the ultimate self-sacrificer, not because she’s an altruist by any means, but because she feels like she has no choice—and, quite honestly, also because her family made her feel like she had no choice. Her family, while they all love each other, put so much of their burdens on Lucille because she was the only one who was both still able to shoulder them (unlike Elizabeth and Sophia) while not being strong-willed enough to resist (unlike Katherine and Anna). Her passivity, with her love for her family, is her biggest downfall and it’s led to her turning into someone who doesn’t quite know how to navigate the things she wants because she’s never had the space to actually think about it. Everything she wants for herself has been repressed because it comes into direct conflict with the good of her family or with the opposing desires of anyone else involved and she’ll always let someone else have their happiness before fighting for her own.

🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

Passivity, like I said before. She’s unwilling and unable to speak up for herself and I think a part of her almost likes that pain of not being able to get what she wants. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy of never having to worry about being turned away because it’s her doing. She bites the hand that feeds her and leaves plants to die because if she’s the one killing them, they’re not dying on her before she’s done loving them.

💌 LOVE LETTER - do they like love letters? what kind of messages do they leave for their partner?

Lucille is definitely a love letter kind of gal. She’s an artist in all senses of the word: A painter, a pianist, a writer, a dancer—she loves any kind of expression as a form of art, and that comes across a lot in the letters she writes and the letters she wants to receive. For Monty, she would definitely leave anything from small notes around the home to long, four to five page letters detailing what it is exactly that she feels for him. As a big reader, she has a very strong connection to the power of language and she doesn’t just use it herself, but she also wants someone to utilize it for her.
