Happy First Day of Passover!

Elizabeth felt it was presumptuous to assume there was a genuine romantic meaning behind the invite, as well as an act of self-defense, but at the same time it seemed malicious to dismiss anything that came from a letter that offered forgiveness. A letter that sounded serious. Which truly meant she felt trapped, because examining her feelings and tormenting herself over what may be simply one of his humorous attempts to seduce her was something that could cause a rift between them, and not giving his words the right weight could actually hurt him. Running away was never an option, and in this case it was also an answer to a question she wasn't even sure was there. She was no lady but she wasn't committed to everything that a pirate life entailed. Did not want to be. That doomed anything between them regardless of how she felt, shouldn't Jack know that? There was no point in entertaining the idea, even if she wished she could. Oh, she wished she could. Letting anything, even rationality, prevent her from following her heart was unacceptable. That was not the woman she wanted to be, she may as well go back to Port Royal and never see a ship again.
So by sundown Elizabeth was in the eastern cove, scared and curious because about to walk into an unknown territory, no idea of what to expect from Jack now. Brave, yes, but she also had to be reasonably cautious and not let her imagination ran. She had to remember there would hardly be smiles by the end of the evening. "Jack? Are you here yet?"
