oh! it's you! [ flora bends down a little to get on eye level with the little girl, offering a small smile. at least brenda in't crying this time, which means that she probably doesn't need help again. ] my name's flora. and yours is... brenda, right?

“Yes! I’m Brenda!”

[She held up her chocolate and caramel bar up at “the pretty girl”. Where she had gotten the chocolate was a mystery. Or perhaps, not so much. She did have pocket money to spend however she pleased. Perhaps she used some of that to get herself some chocolate?]

“Do you want some? This is really really good!”

6. Our muses are both captains of opposing quidditch teams.

[Brenda wasn’t that much of a Quidditch witch. She rode a broom just fine, but she preferred to occasionally watch the matches between her house and others. Unfortunately, the captain had gotten the frogpox and couldn’t participate for this particular match, so he asked her to fill in. Why he had asked for her was a mystery, really.]

[ jean pets the masked head of his ferret - the small animal currently draped around his neck and fixing flora with a distrusting stare - and looks down at the table, in thought. he’s had a couple of drinks, privately of course; otherwise he wouldn’t contemplate talking to a younger student like he is now. ]

i…it’s probably pretty silly-sounding to anyone else, actually. i…think about the last holiday i went on with my whole family. before my parents got too busy with work, and before my brother decided he wanted nothing to do with us…we usually went to pretty fancy places, but this time it was just a little cottage in the south of france, and hersh and i would make fishing rods and try and catch fish in the sea and it was just…nice, you know? it didn’t really seem like anything could take that feeling of peace away.

[ he takes a sip of his pumpkin juice and pushes his food around his plate some more. ]

“Oh! Hi!”

[A young girl waved at her, giggling happily. It was quite plain to see why she was so merry: she had a caramel and chocolate bar on hand.]

“You’re that pretty girl that helped me the other day, right? Thanks! Um… what was your name again?”

i don’t - i don’t know? maybe? i mean, i’m missing as in he doesn’t know where i am, but… i might’ve pulled a few strings. i mean - um. well. you can get a lot of things with money, y'know. and even if i’m no good at disguises i’m very good at disappearing.

[ jean probably should have never asked. this morning’s edition of the paper featured an article about layton…doing things? being a hero? jean had only skimmed it. he didn’t really care. what he did care about was the answer to the question that had left him before he could really think about it. ]
