Mateo never thought he'd love anyone, that he was too fickle and uncaring for that. And then there was Benji and while he'd never been certain of what love was, everything changed with him. He felt cruel reminding his lover, but mostly himself, that some things would have to change, that his duty was clear, even if he didn't want it. And for a moment, Mateo wondered what would happened if he didn't go through with this, if instead he left with Benji. It was the worst idea he ever had but he couldn't shake it. But then Mateo sighed and tried to chase the thought away from his mind. It would mean a life running away from his father and bloodshed here for the few people he cared about. "I hope your father never pushes you to do this." Benji's father was an asshole and Mateo hated the way he was treated by the older man, but at least, for now, the expectations were on the low side. "You know you'll father will hear about this soon enough." Still, Mateo loved the idea of Benji doing all of this for him. If he wasn't careful, he would try and take things further than just chaste kisses with Benji at the moment. Which was probably why he leaned in and kissed his lover, deeper this time. "He'll be angry but won't make a scene, at least not until later. If I'm lucky it won't be until after the ceremony. Looking forward to those family wedding photos." This, acting as if none of it was serious was all he had, the only way he could protect himself. "How easy do you think it's to get lost in Greece?"
