Hannelore and Athanasios have gotten caught up in each other, despite everything. (This one is also in the book, albeit from Athanasios' POV in the current draft, so spoiler alert again, but again it is far from the end lol)

If someone had told Hannelore a month ago she would be peacefully sitting next to Athanasios von Kienhag, high up above the city, in a belltower hidden in plain sight, she would have called them a liar, a fool, and a scumbag.

Now, under the light of the stars and the moon, above the streetlights and the handful of newfangled electric lamps scattered across the city, in the breeze threatening winter — she hadn’t felt this at ease in a long time.

Granted, Athanasios had little part in it. It was Yvette who had helped her find lodgings, and having work reassured her, too. Nonetheless, it was him who, despite his protests, had looked after Muriel time and again, freed her, Hannelore, up to pursue a better life.

He looked at peace, too. The contrast emphasised how rare that was.

He hadn’t had it easy lately, either. He shouldn’t, she reminded herself; he deserved more than a little hardship after what he had done.

Yet, ever since she’d known him, he’d been nothing but kind, at least to her. And Muriel.

She was losing her mind, but what else did she have to lose?

When she shifted to touch her hand to his, as if accidentally, he didn’t hesitate. As if he had expected it. But then, he wasn’t known for hesitation.

She looked down on their entangled hands, her heartbeat rising steadily in her chest. They fit together as well as any pair of human hands, really. Somehow, they had gotten caught in each other against all odds.

This was such a stupid idea, but that hadn’t stopped her before.

»What are you thinking?« he asked quietly.

She looked up to meet his eyes. Dark eyes, once again. »I think… I don’t know where this is going.«

She didn’t. Her heart was still too raw to speak clearly, if ever she had been any good at understanding herself. But if he wasn’t hesitating, then neither would she.

She closed her eyes, leaned in and let herself fall.

I MADE IT AYYYY, here are the first concepts for "The plague of the seven seas", an AU where Kallamar is chained instead of Narinder

Kallamar's chains are not bended in any type of rock, instead they hold very heavy anchors to prevent him from swimming back up

Btw the Lamb is named Athanasios

Kallamar was banished to the depths of Anchordeep after purposely casting a huge plague on the lands of the Old Faith to see what would happen, his siblings didn't like this one bit, the plague was killing hundreds, maybe even thousands of people, they came to the conclusion to banish Kallamar in his own realm to prevent this from happening again.

In the bottom of Anchordeep the god of plague sat for long, sunken by those who once were from the same blood as his, Kallamar started to be driven insane, angered, he wanted to be free.

People were not allowed to step foot into the ocean of Anchordeep, and if they did, they would get immediately sick, the waters are full of bacteria that carry many diseases, if you were to got for a ride on a ship, that wouldn't be safe either, Kallamar will extend his tentacles onto the ship to destroy it and sink it, just like the Kraken.

Athanasios was in one of the many ships Kallamar sunk, however, he survived the attacks, Kallamar then saw strength within the Lamb, and with his trident created a protective bubble around the Lamb and brought Athanasios to himself

Some talk and Athanasios is now the vessel of the Blue Crown.
