Historic Wedding Venues | Atlanta Wedding Photographers

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I get to see lots of different wedding venues. I have to say that my favorite wedding venues are the historic ones in Atlanta. Atlanta is blessed with some beautiful historic wedding venues. From the historic area around Peachtree Street to the historic mansions in Roswell. Each one has it’s own charm to share the bride and groom along with their guests. When you pick a historic wedding venue you are also sharing the rich history of the city.

All along Peachtree street there are several stunning wedding venues for large and small weddings. There is my favorite venue the Fox Theater where I proposed to my wife. The Fox has a few places where you can have weddings. The have the large Egyptian Ballroom decorated in large columns and gold leaf. the room is filled beautiful carvings and has a balcony that over looks the space. Then there is the Marque Club where this 10,00 square feet of space for your guests. It is decorated in a Moorish-Mediterranean decor with a private bar. You also have access to the two heated roof top bars. Across the street from the Fox Theater is the Georgian Terrace. It is a historic hotel that is a landmark in the heart of town. It is a beautiful venue with a ballroom to die for. It is a perfect location if you are expecting out of town guests. They can stay there in the hotel and walk to your wedding! If you want a smaller wedding you can have it at the Livingston Restaurant and have the back drop of Peachtree Street. Then right a little further you can go to Wimbish house which was built in 1906 and is one of the few residents that made through all the changes in the downtown area. There is also Rhodes Hall. A historic house on Peachtree Street with a Romanesque revival accents. It looks like a castle in the center of town. It is also the home of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation!

If you go north of Atlanta there is Roswell. Roswell is the home of some the best preserved pieces of southern architecture in the Atlanta area. There are several historic venues along Roswell Road. There is Primrose Cottage, Roswell Mill Club Founders Hall and Kimball Hall. My favorite venue by far is Naylor Hall! Naylor hall is historic land mark along Roswell Road and just a little north of the shopping district.

Naylor hall is run by Sunny Bailey. Naylor Hall was built in 1840. Naylor has one of the largest most grand entrances of all the mansions in Roswell. The front yard makes for a perfect backdrop for you wedding ceremony. There is a bridal room upstairs above the historic staircase. There is the dance area in the rear of the house that is beautiful with a bar and tons of great light which I like as a photographer. But what really make Naylor hall such a wonderful venue is the staff! Abbey and Sunny are real pros! They are the people you want on your team on your wedding day.
