Alien creatures I drew for potential ideas for my work’s Halloween cutouts
Mildly hilarious headcanon for the backstory of Jean Jacket, spoilers for Nope. Also warning for horror-ruining shenanigans.
At first I thought there was a spooky aspect to the idea that JJ really is an alien. Like how did it get to earth? Clearly it could not have flown there itself. It’s a living organism, needs to eat and breathe, and is clearly non sapient.
Someone or something would have had to bring it here. But why?
Then immediately in my mind I ruined the spooky feeling by imagining it was brought to earth by alien conservationists.
Maybe JJ’s species isn’t from their home planet, but it’s still from one similar enough to Earth that Earth would be a suitable environment for it. So maybe these aliens pretty much set up a secret alien zoo somewhere on Earth where they bring various animals whose home planets have gone or are going to shit. Because they’re not so short sighted to let the things run loose on purpose.
Long lived beings, they’ve probably been doing this for thousands of years. Every now and then one of the animals gets out and some of the sapient aliens have to scramble to get them back. Sometimes it takes them a while.
Now just imagine two alien ranchers (relatively new to the job) accidentally letting one of the vore roombas loose and having to frantically go around the world hunting it down. Praying to whatever they believe in it doesn’t eat a whole damn city. But they CANNOT FIND JJ FOR MONTHS because it decided to make its nest out in bum fuck nowhere.
They only manage to find out what happened because they see the photos -- and JJ’s popped remains -- on the news.
Fired as fuck.
I was an actual idiot when I made this post. I didn’t know what I was talking about. So here’s an updated November 2020 version of my Favorite Cryptid List from Least Favorite to Most
Atmospheric Beast Check
I saw this big huge beast (bigger irl) and it was going at a weird upwards angle much faster than clouds
Then on the other side of my house I saw these
Then they morphed into this
And now this
Oh! Hello my huge fast moving friend! (again, much bigger irl)
You can't see it in-video but it's now moving up and down (like a sideways eel swimming)
Atmospheric Beasts are strange semi-solid creatures that are able to fly through the air without the need for visible wings. There are many different kinds of atmospheric beasts such as “skyfish” and “flying rods” which can usually be debunked as fast moving insects caught on film. Some of these creatures can sometimes be so large they can be misidentified as UFOs. The most famous case of an Atmospheric Beast was of the Crawfordsville Monster. This Monster had two major sightings: the first being by Reverend G.W. Switzer, his wife, and two other men, the second sighting was when it supposedly flew over a town and was seen by over 100 people.

Atmospheric Beasts
Atmospheric beasts are allegedly creatures native to the skies that possess the ability to fly without the use of wings. Eyewitness accounts describe them as being able to alter their density, from small and metallic in appearance to larger and more cloud-like (left). The more dense creatures are sometimes reported as having a form completely alien to us, while others report creatures with fins, eyes or mouths. Less dense creatures are often distinguished from clouds by their unusual movements and appearance.
