Feeling the 2021 shippiness rn

Okay my mind is still reeling after Across the Spider-verse but I was just struck with something

We know that one of the biggest things that Miles is struggling with this movies is that he wants “to have his cake and eat it too” and it seems like everyone around him is trying to explain to him that it doesn’t work that way.

Like we see this with his love of art and physics, his life as spiderman and as a kid, his determination to save the people close to him and the multiverse

Hell he even gets two cakes for his dad just bc he has so much to say and doesn’t want to compromise

So it seems like everyone around him is either trying to spare him the pain of failure when stuff inevitably fails or is actively holding him back from reaching both of his goals. And it seems like everyone is right for the most part. EXCEPT!

We see that isn’t true! We see that you absolutely CAN do both with Pavitr! He was trying to save a bud full of people including his girlfriend and his girlfriends dad and he even says “I can do both!” when he clearly can’t.

Then- enter Miles who’s not limited by what everyone believes must be true who says screw it I’m gonna help him and you can’t stop me. And yknow what? He does!

He helps Pavitr save everyone because at the end of the day you CAN have you cake and eat it too as long as you SHARE

No one can do it all on their own. But together anything can happen.

So the ending with the whole reunion of the spider people that are on Miles’ side is so promising because he’s finally not alone anymore. He had people that can help and share and make anything happen

Re-reading a comic of mine that I've never been able to fully finish. I'm amazed that it's actually funny and the art and 3d-depth is pretty okay?? I'm looking forward to practicing enough to get this level of skill again, and I DO want to finish this comic!

The Beginning of ATMV

Every new music blog has to come from somewhere. My idea and motivation for ATMV began on my travels, meeting new people at dingy hostels and explaining where in the UK I live. Always the same conversation:

“You live in London?”

“Near London. Reading, you probably haven’t heard of it?”

“Yes, there’s a big festival there in summer!”

I was surprised time and time again how many people knew Reading for the infamous Reading and Leeds Festival. But, after moving here in 2014, I have realised there is so much more to the town, music wise, than I first anticipated or appreciated. Two years later and I feel people need to know what’s going down here. With an amazing array of new up and coming talent we’re hot on the heels of the likes of Bristol, Brighton, Manchester and Leeds. I just want to celebrate that in the best way I know how. Gigs gigs gigs.
