It occurred to Eddie Munson whilst he traipsed about the evil shit hole explained to him as the Upside Down that he wasn’t the only newbie present among the group. Buckley had mentioned being involved with all the supernatural drama once before, but not whether she had seen the horror scape up close. Nancy seemed nice enough. Then, Steve, he wasn’t entirely sure about the guy, other than how he could pull monsters apart with his bare hands. Useful, for sure. Insane, absolutely. Both of them seemed in their element like they were taking a walk in the damned park.

So, He wondered if Robin was as freaked as him.

Eddie waited until Steve wandered ahead to talk to Nancy and then slid into her personal space with a charming smile. “How’s the vacation treating ya, Buckley?” Please tell me that you’re losing your shit too.

              her liquid dark eyes widened with every sentence. new horrors making a home in her already crowded head as robin && the others talked out their scattered memories of the night. it wasn’t enough all the things they’ve dealt with, but no there was more. there was bigger. there was badder. in this moment, instead of fear she only felt tired. the fear would creep up on her later when she was alone, where the kids didn’t have to see her frayed composure finally crumble. right now it was easy to muster a reassuring smile && warm voice over the tumult of her thoughts. it wasn’t a fake or sugary attempt to pull the wool over their eyes but she needed to make sure every felt safe as long as they were together.   “   there’s a lot of that going around lately,   “   she laughed weakly, the half forgotten cigarette in her hand like an anchor to stop it from shaking.   “   but we can beat this. we just need a plan && fast.   “

      “ Not   exactly   the   first   thing   I   was   expecting   to   hear   this   morning,   Robin. ”   But   it   was   of   little   surprise,   for   despite   only   know   the   younger   girl   for   a   matter   of   weeks,   Lottie   had   grown   accustomed   to   the   monologues   that   would   tumble   out   of   her   mouth   with   little   thought   or   pause   for   breath.      It   was   endearing,   to   be   completely   truthful,   for   Lottie   herself   was   not   one   to   speak   a   huge   amount,   and   she   enjoyed   listening   to   others   as   they   confided   in   her.      She   reached   behind   the   counter   for   her   trusty   apron   –   a   garish   red   tone   that,   on   a   hangover,   hurt   the   eyes   like   a   bitch,   adorned   with   a   tacky   cartoon   of   a   pizza   slice.   Then   she   turned   with   a   thoughtful   expression   to   answer   Robin.            “ I’m   not   sure   if   the   word   you’re   looking   for   is   extreme   fatalism   or   if   you   need   a   serious   diagnosis   of   cherophobia.   But   there’s   definitely   a   weird   atmosphere   around   here   these   days.   I   can’t   quite   place   my   finger   on   it. ”

he may be lanky, long, lean and quite flexible, but coordinated eddie munson is not. he’s tripped, slipped, and fallen so many times in his life that he’s lost count. still, when someone bursts out laughing, it’s funnier for him to feign hurt feelings and make them feel like crap than it is to just laugh with them. because he knows for sure if they fell, he’d be laughing.

still, he must be a sight there with salt & vinegar chips in his hair, on his clothes, on the floor. eddie smirks at robin before grabbing her hand and letting her help hoist him to his feet. “alright, she-hulk.” he teases, brushing some of the dried potato out of his mop of curls. “did you like the tapes?” he asks then, pulling a perfectly in tact chip out of his hair before offering it to her. “snack?”

thank you, you're such a sweetheart. <3 i know your robin blog is new and all, but I'm already having a lot of fun writing with you. robin and eddie is one of my fave dynamics that the duffers failed on. so, i can't wait to build on that more.

work  had  been  slow  so  as  soon  as  becky  came  in,  carol  was  out  of  there.  she  had  some  stuff  to  drop  off  for  steve  that  he  had  been  asking  for,  so  she  made  her  way  from  sam  goody  to  the  scoop  shop  as  soon  as  she  had  changed  out  of  her  work  clothes.  slinging  her  oversized  purse  over  her  shoulder  she  walked  in  and  wasn't  paying  much  attention  until  she  looked  up  and  saw  robin  instead  of  steve.  ❝  huh.  hey,  robin.  ❞  a  smile  pulled  across  glossed  lips.  ❝  is  your  partner  in  crime  working  today  or  is  he  slacking  again?  ❞  how  she  had  remained  friends  with  steve  for  this  long  was  a  mystery  all  in  and  of  itself.
