All is well 💛! The blight has been defeated. We've just been enjoying free time and creative space for other (possibly Supergirl-related 🕵️) projects.

But we have something fun planned for this week... Stay tuned for an announcement tomorrow 😁

With Supergirl ending soon, what are your plans regarding this podcast? Are you guys planning on continuing it?

We have some exciting Supergirl-related episodes ahead including a season six wrap-up and the final installments of our Truth, Justice & the American Way series. Beyond that, stay tuned for an announcement in upcoming weeks! 🕵️

I have to agree with Alex when it comes to Clark. In season one Alex tells Kara about the fortress like it's new information to her and Kara as we know asks James what's he like. All of which adds up to a Clark that is simply not in the picture. While I hope Kara stays in the present when the show ends it would be very much in character for her to leave them all behind - Daryl

The fortress situation is interesting because Kara also says to James later in the season (Solitude) that he offered to bring her to the fortress multiple times. Probably a continuity mistake, but accepting both as true our explanation options are A. Alex didn't know that Clark offered to take Kara to the fortress or B. Clark offered to take Kara there multiple times in between those episodes.

But yes, "What's he like in real life?" and other little moments are a big clue in that he wasn't really around.

But as much as Kara has been let down by Clark not being the person in her life that she wanted or needed, she still loves him and feels a sense of responsibility toward him.

She also has a lot of other people she loves and who she can rely upon to be there for her when she needs them (and be there with her in non life-threatening times, too! Maybe this is part of why Kara loves game nights: the quality time feels like a balm for her abandonment wounds.)

So I don't think it'd be in character for Kara to leave that all behind. Kara has had troubles and pain in her close relationships, sure, but she's proud of her Earth life and the family that she's built.

Like she says after waking from the Black Mercy attack in season one, "Because I've known pain, but I've also known love. And the people here are my family. I may have been born on Krypton, but I choose Earth. And I will protect it until my last breath."

in regards to the latest episode, link is working on tumblr so I can still listen no worries, but I thought I’d let you know that the new episode isn’t showing on apple podcasts for some reason?

There's a delay sometimes, but we haven't been able to find a pattern. We unfortunately can't control how long it takes to push out from our publishing app to all of the players (it loaded in my app about 8 hours ago so hopefully it's refreshed now!) -- Vv

In there own way jhordan and jhonthan are like Kara and Alex one having powers and the other a over protective brother family is important and as Kara says blood bonds us all

I'm assuming your "family is important" bit is re: my "My family first" messaging criticism of Superman and Lois, and you're right, family is very important! For Supergirl, we've been shown repeatedly how Kara wouldn't be Kara without Alex and Eliza.

But Kara's interpretation of the ancient Kryptonian proverb, "Blood bonds us all," is, as she argues to Astra, "All life is bonded by blood." In fact, she updates the phrase in the season one finale to, "Love bonds us all."

Supergirl as a show believes heroism is sacrificing personal wants (including family and love) for the good of everyone.

And that's not what everyone sees as heroism! In fact, we addressed the characters' different opinions on that in our Holding Out For a Hero episode, and Alex just talked to Lena about how different perspectives like that only make the group stronger.

But the only character with a "We have a greater duty" mindset in Superman and Lois is an antagonist, General Lane, and the show repeatedly reinforces how selfish choosing Superman things over your family is.

They're entitled to their interpretation of Clark! It's just odd to see such a hardline take in favor of caring for your own family over protecting the world for a Super character. Not to my tastes.

But that's quite alright because we have Supergirl: Paragon of Hope to hold that space.

This is going to sound like a insult but I have the worst sleep anxiety and putting on your podcast always helps me rest.

I’m curious if you would ever cover seasons 1-3 episode by episode! I really love your analysis and would love to hear your insights in the previous seasons.

Hey! I don’t know that we’d do every single episode, but we’d definitely at least do a “wrap-up” episode for each of the older seasons.

my fave zena podcast does episodes which are regulrly over two hours long. their latest minisode was over two hours long. i love every episode. this is all to say i support the messages telling you guys to keep the length. go in depth. go even deeper. give me allll the thoughts and feelings you have. do multiples episodes on the same theme or character(s) or episode. i promise there is an audience for it. and in this fandom oh god is there a need for it.
