in regards to the latest episode, link is working on tumblr so I can still listen no worries, but I thought I’d let you know that the new episode isn’t showing on apple podcasts for some reason?

There's a delay sometimes, but we haven't been able to find a pattern. We unfortunately can't control how long it takes to push out from our publishing app to all of the players (it loaded in my app about 8 hours ago so hopefully it's refreshed now!) -- Vv

You guys are really intro the music in supergirl. Do you have any idea why the scores for seasons 4 and 5 aren’t released on Spotify??

Vv: No, sorry! I did notice as I was rewatching S4 that there was a higher ratio of soundtrack vs. original score, so it’s possible that there weren’t enough new tracks to warrant a full album. They also regularly reuse some of the original score from earlier seasons because it has leitmotifs for specific characters.

The effort you put into this is incredible, you inspire me. Never feel like you have to do shorter episodes. Your Alex In Wonderland episode has to be one of the best pieces this fandom has produced and thaaaank you for loving J'onn as much as I do.

Vv: Thank you for the chuckle, anon, because Cycles and I argue over episode length all the time and you’ve just given her more ammunition. 😉

But seriously, thank you! We both really loved doing the Alex in Wonderland episode. (And the video essay that goes with it!) I’ve actually been pitching another episode topic that’ll get to cover those character dynamics again from a new angle, so look for that in 2021.

"Specifically, Kara is still afraid to fully trust herself to cope when things are scary," I'm sure you're right, but could you give us some examples from this season of Kara not trusting herself when things get scary? Or include it in the next podcast! Is there going to be another podcast before 4.12 airs? The podcast is fascinating btw!

Whoops, this ask came before 4x12, but I’m glad we held it because 4x13 kindly provided a good example. Kara’s very decisive when situations are familiar or when she can predict the outcome, but when she’s confronted by uncertainty, she tends to ask other people to point her in the direction she should go.

There’s not anything overly wrong with this– Kara’s collaborative nature is one of the most refreshing things about her as a hero and a leader– but sometimes it leads her into overthinking what she should do when, deep down, she already knows.

Re: 4x06. I may have missed it, but did you mention Brainy's reaction when Nia commented on his mother raising him right? 'No, she most certainly did not' may hint at Brainy's backstory regarding his sociopath mass murdering mother, Brainiac 4 - who abandoned Brainy as a newborn, then tracked him down years later (after he joined the Legion) to torture/try to kill him for kicks and giggles. B5 has one of the most notorious family histories outside of the Luthors. Hoping the show delves into it.

I don’t think we had room to bring it up, no! But that was a nice catch. 👍🏼 We’ve been hearing little bits and pieces about Brainy’s past throughout the season and have a feeling it’ll be relevant later on.

There was a moment where i thought kara was actually going to die and she would be replaced by kasnian kara at the end of the season, as a way not to have two karas

And here I was, amused that the universe had decided it had enough of Oliver and Barry but that it needed TWO Karas.

it would also be interesting to see a podcast episode focused on statistics, like those that Vv has done in the past, and what they mean for the show as a whole/how they can be misunderstood sometimes when taken out of context.

This would be fun, but isn’t something we’re going to get into at this point in the season. (Although I talk about it a little in the back half of our Elseworlds episode) Some of this stuff is hard to follow without the visuals and is better left in writing. But we’ll definitely keep it in mind for the future!

First of all, thank you for these podcasts they are really insightful into the show and I appreciate your analysis. It helps me understand the show better. But, the one contention for me is still- Mon el. If after you complete your checklist, could it be possible to analyze his character arc in s3? And perhaps the major question of whether Mon el did sideline Supergirl in s3 or not? (Particularly the ending of ep14)

Re: Mon-El – we don’t have any upcoming themes that relate specifically to your question, but I’m working my way through part 2 of data analysis on how the show devotes time to different characters and will definitely make a meta post about this before S4 begins.
