The world took on Halloween cuz we figured it was kinda cool, but you don’t get to push other than that onto us!
No other holiday as globally as Halloween is left standing in the way of Christmas/Yule/Hearthswarming and all other holidays that happen to go on around the same time to celebrate winter solstice!
I don’t know much about starbound other than scifi terraria, so i put Faraday up against the first monster i thought of, A GRABOID! much like her, enjoy dodging the dark maw of destruction another year merri.
well, this was an insane special event. I guess it all comes to a close. *also hears about a movie and a season 6* WOT M8? I guess they could answer some lingering questions, like, I guess all the loyal crystal gems are staying on earth. also, we never got to know about gem harvesting or that magic picture from the first episode. possibly snake people.
This episode does really feel like it could have been written with the intent for it to be a series finale, but I’m optimistic that future episodes and the upcoming movie can continue to expand upon the major changes that occurred in montage form. What happens on Homeworld now? How does Beach City/Earth deal with all the newly returned Gems? Does Steven play any role in ruling on Homeworld, or is he just left to his own devices with the Crystal Gems on Earth? I’m still eager for loads to learn about, and I hope more fun stories to be had with our favorite little gem family.
*sees goldie looking at the ABC book confused* either she maxed out constitution, dex, and charisma with intellect dump stat, or someone has been drawing dicks
Is inspired by Fallout Equestria RP with Bre, where Goldie is just an unfortunate slave in the Wasteland and has never been taught to read in her life.
Currently under new “ownership” (Chilly Heart has a hard time convincing the slave she’s actually free), Goldie is tasked to learn some of these skills she’s been missing through her life, including using her magic too.
ABC is hard if you never been taught or given a book before in your life.
Two characters got high and ended up on same wavelength as the group’s dumbest fighter and somehow this made them all breeze through evil villain lair because them just walking in as high teens unaware of their surroundings and one feral man, just confused everyone so much that they just let them.
It was glorious.
The feral man’s long lost love, the alligator Gale, turned out to be one of the bad guy’s evil goons. The goth chick turned into full werewolf form to maul a rude goon to death for keep punching her into the wall. Sadly the stoner backpacker who shared the joint that got them all high, didn’t make it. He shall be missed.
one of the things i just realized that both greg and rose both grew up in a cage, and after finding something that made them think of things outside of what they knew, ran away with it. i just hope the show points out at some point that little detail in the last episodes, but i feel like they might miss it.
It is quite true though. They were both running from something, both holding resentment towards the family they left behind.
Rose was ready to take on a new identity and FAKED HER OWN DEATH, claiming the Diamonds would hardly care and that would be all it took to make them lose interest in Earth.
[Slight spoilers]
Greg did legally change his name when he turned his back on his parents, but at least he didn’t go as far as Rose did to put extra distance. He did after all still provide his parents with life signs through letters and such. He simply refuse to visit and ever see them, still holding onto his view of them from when he was a kid feeling suffocated. While we do have it confirmed that the Diamonds would literally imprison Pink Diamond whenever they felt she had overstepped her boundaries with her behaviour. We can always agree Rose’s case was much more extreme, which explain her extreme measures, even though she still acted as a child throwing a fit. It is still interesting to see how much of all that match up between how both Rose and Greg would view their upbringing and family relations.
Steven could have as much a freakout about being denied meeting the Diamonds as family until they came to kill him, as being denied his human family that only lived a city over this whole time. He was denied knowing his heritage both sides of his family. Though what Rose left behind for him weighted much heavier in consequences, while the Demayo was a loss through absence if anything.
Remember how Steven freaked out the first time he met anyone from Greg’s family, especially when learning father’s family name wasn’t Universe.
Steven went on a loooong journey getting to know and understand his absent mom, but could do so by wandering her memories through dreams from her gem. He get to experience on himself how the Diamonds viewed and treated Pink. To him there isn’t the same familiarity to what Greg claims about his family, because NOTHING can compare to the extreme case of the Diamonds. Greg was given everything, opportunities, a home, resources, options. He had a HUMAN upbringing. Nothing compared to what Pink went through and it was still deemed quite unfair how her actions and choices kept affecting everyone in her life long after she was gone. Pink/Rose was too important, leaving such a mess behind while pleading her case of made to suffer as her excuse for her choices.
It makes Greg’s experience pale, while leaving Steven envious of a life he was never given the choice for. Overlooking the likeness in how Greg and Rose viewed their past and relations.
Anyways, I’m rambling. Whether or not the show decide to spell out this point of reference between Rose and Greg, I think they still did enough with this episode. People ain’t missing the picture, it was a whole episode dedicated to Greg telling about his family life and how he viewed it.
It is an interesting addition to the lore for sure.
