The Patience of God

God’s patience is a display of His mercy — it is indeed one way in which it is frequently manifested, and it’s true. But that patience and mercy are one and the same excellency, and are never to be separated, we cannot concede. It may not be that easy to discriminate between them, but the Scripture fully warrants us in affirming some things about one, which we cannot about the other. 💙

The Lovingkindness of God

The Bible has so much to say about God’s lovingkindness, and who is capable of numbering them? No pen of a man, nor tongue of an angel, can adequately express it. Familiar as this blessed attribute of God’s may be to people, it is something entirely peculiar to divine revelation. 💜

The Love of God

There are many today who talk about the love of God, but are actually total strangers to the God of love. When thinking of love as an essential attribute of God, our thoughts must be formed and regulated by what is revealed thereon in the Holy Scriptures. The better we are acquainted with His love — its character, fullness, and blessedness — the more will our hearts be drawn out in love to Him. 💗

The Grace of God

To abound in sin — that is the worst and the most we can or could do. The word abound defines the limit of our finite abilities. Although we feel our iniquities rise over us like a mountain, that mountain, nevertheless, has definable boundaries. But who shall define the limitless grace of God? It plunges our thoughts so much into infinitude and confounds them there. Thanks be to God for His abounding grace! ❤️

The Mercy of God

To receive mercy we must first know that God is merciful. It is not enough to believe that He once showed mercy to Noah or Abraham or David, and will again show mercy in some happy future day. We must believe that God’s mercy is boundless, free, and through Jesus Christ our Lord, available to us now in our present situation. 🧡

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever.” Psalm 136:1 KJV

God’s mercy is eternal — it never began to be and it will never cease to be. It is infinite — it will never be more and it will definitely never be less. Nothing that has occurred or will occur in heaven or earth or hell can ever change the tender mercies of our God. Forever His mercy stands, a boundless, overwhelming immensity of divine pity and compassion.
