GOTP AU Tidbit
Following the end of the war, Knockout didn't so much join the winning team out of cowardice, but rather was asked following the Decepticons' defeat if he would call a truce in order to help rebuild in exchange for them not locking him up. Knockout accepts, though is kept under Ratchet's close watch for quite some time to make sure there's no funny business.
After a while though, Knockout is able to gain others' trust. A new medical guild is forged with him being a primary member, he helps start up a series of clinics for returning cybertronians and any newborns that find themselves getting injured in some fashion.
Knockout is skeptical of the new High Council, though. Their election seemed far too easy, hardly any resistance, and those that did resist became strangely quiet about it soon after, or just... Disappeared completely.
Ratchet included.
To keep himself safe, Knockout ducks down, limits any extreme acts of defiance while trying to find something on the High Council to explain all of this.
He doesn't like what he finds, because it's nothing. These autobots don't exist. They appeared out of seemingly nowhere and rose up to the top of the ladder without resistance and to everyone's apparent joy. He also finds that the majority of those that have disappeared were pre-war. They must've known something was up too.
Knockout keeps his investigation going under the cover of darkness, locating files on the missing bots and making contact... Including a revived Optimus. But then he's caught, and imprisoned for a time until the Bee Team ultimately defeats the false council. During that time, however, an unusual thing happens... He delivers Wildbreak into the universe.
He hides the little one from the guards out of fear he'll be taken from him, giving most of his energon to the growing infant, until he is freed and Ratchet loses his mind over seeing the starving father and unexpected child in a cell.
