I know everyone likes Starscream as the carrier but consider for a moment:

Skyfire being insistent he carry their sparkling because he knows it'd be a teeny tiny pregnancy. It'll be no problem for him to do it at all. He is a shuttle after all and is used to carrying Cybertronians anyway. He doesn't want Starscream to hurt himself by carrying. Maybe it's even a special point of pride for Shuttles to be carriers since they are so well suited to it.

The whole time, Starscream is all, "you see that huge, beautiful Shuttle? I, Starscream, sparked that!" And doing that male pigeon walk where they puff out their chest and strut around all happy. A very proud and smug sire.
