My headphones jack derped out so I got to hear Voltron without the voice track.
I was spinning the adapter/plug thingy and hit a sweet spot that made it so only the sound effects/music layer could be heard. This happened as Allura was assigning the Lions to the Paladins. Here is what I found;
The control room is super echo-y. Enough to understand what is being said if you focus, as if someone was watching TV in the next room.
The Lion’s cockpits also have a fair bit of echo.
“Wait. This castle has a particle barrier we can activate.” is on the sound effect layer for some reason. Maybe it was a late addition?
King Alfor has so many sound effects over his voice that he sounds pretty clear. Just missing the bass parts of his voice.
“Boys, it’s time to suit up.” also exists on the sound effects layer. Granted, Shiro was facing a glass tube so anything he said would sound glassy anyway.
The helmets of the Paladin Armor eliminates all echo from the cockpits.
All the noises Rover makes are on the voice layer, not the effects layer.
“I. AM. YOUR. PALADIN.” comes through loud and clear with how much echo was on it.
The Black Lion roaring when the door gets unlocked is not counted as a sound effect, but the rest of the Lions roaring is.
When they get pulled into the tractor beam, Lance and Hunk’s lines are on the effects layer.
Forming Voltron sounds exactly the same as normal. No surprise there.
However, the team reacting to forming Voltron are all on the effects layer. (”I’m a leg!”)
The music almost never takes a break. It gets real quiet at times, but its still there under all the other audio.
I want to watch more but it’s 1am.
