Maki and Kiibo struggle with their humanity Maki believing she’s not human anymore and Kiibo as a robot striving to be more human but during the killing game the do things which could be considered by some, the most human things one can do.

They form strong bonds and connections, they sacrifice themselves to save their peers they act upon free will.

Maki has beliefs in others, beliefs that are her own and Kiibo dies in some sense.

All things subjectively human. (Well except dying that’s pretty much objective.)

The irony that the two characters who most question their humanity arguably prove their humanity more than anyone else.

btw did i ever tell you about these boots i saw at the thrift store once. they were platforms and the pattern on them reminded me starry night by van gogh. i wanted them so bad but i couldnt afford them and they weren't in my size. i miss those boots so much
