Whumpee who has complicated feelings about their position and doesn't try to run or anything but, even if theyll still obey at the end of the day, have an attitude that can't just easily be surpassed. Whumpee who is trying to redeem themselves for a percieved fault. Whumpee who doesn't like this but doesn't recognize it. Whumpee who doesn't like it but does recognize the feeling. They think theyre in the wrong for feeling the dread. Whumpee who sees it as justified because, okay—they really were pushing it with that attitude, weren't they? This wouldn't happen if they'd just try harder. They'll just be better next time. It's not whumper's fault, really; that's just how things work. Whumpee is the one in the wrong. Whumpee who needs to endure this for the sake of something else. Whumpee who is in this due to self-sacrifice and need to force themselves to comply. Whumpee to whom this has always been everything that's ever been. Whumpee who thinks it's all unfair but can't actually bring themselves to do something about it, who thinks this is the only way things can even be, for them. Do you see the vision.
Hello everyone! I have officially finished the fanfic ‘The Hero and The Robot,’ just in time for Metonic week!
… Well, there’s some days left in it. Tehe.
In any case, this is a 43k word fic, centered around Sonic and Metal Sonic swapping bodies thanks to the Chaos Emeralds, and their endeavors in switching back. The romance isn’t immediate, but it fuels the characters and their decisions… and I’d very much appreciate it if you’d read it.
This was a work of heart for the past over half a year, and I’ve received a downright insane amount of support. I still get whiplash when seeing the numbers under this thing, and the comments really have fueled me.
If you’ve been reading H&R already, I really do thank you. Even just seeing the hits go up has given me strength.

This one is for Felinguard and Lupus actually! I have a very distinct animatic in my brain that covers how they met during the Dragon War to the aftermath of the Kingsblade War
The Mind Electric - Miracle Musical
This one was supposed to be for Drakoth right after Aelius gets sealed away, while I don't associate it with Cat Quest as much as I used to, it's still in my playlist ^^
The Furst Game:
Enchanté - Dirt Poor Robins
This one could actually also be put in the previous category, but the reason it's here is because it's based specifically on what we learn about the Old Masters and Dragons in the first game.
Whoes Eye Is It Anyway??? - Jhariah
This was one in that reblog of the other post :D It really hit me just how much this song feels like a Drakoth song. It's just. Ouuuughhhhhhhhh
Laplace's Angel - Will Wood
I actually used to associate this one with Lioner and Wolfen, and in some ways I still do! But after being given a different perspective, it's also a really good Drakoth and Dragonblood song ^^

Golden AU Playlist:
Curses - The Crane Wives
This one is meant to be like, the opening song to the AU. The playlist is designed to be like a performance, something to be played all at once, since it tells a story ^^. First verse would be Canis and the second would be Felis, while the third is both of them
Passerine - The Oh Hellos
This is one of the Felis songs in the playlist! Added as like, the past. Wayyyy before the Kingsbloods were summoned to the other timeline
Ship in a Bottle - Steffan Argus
Similarly to the last song, this is a past song! This one, however, is for Canis instead ^^ this will be the same pattern for the next two songs
Dear Wormwood - The Oh Hellos
This one would be set when Felis and Canis first arrive in the other timeline, and everything they learn up to a certain point. This is Felis' pov
Exeunt - The Oh Hellos
Likewise, this is Canis' pov after arriving in the other timeline ^^
Bitter Water - The Oh Hellos
This is where the playlist shifts. This one is centered around Felis and Canis learning who Lioner and Wolfen really are and their feelings about it. From this point onwards all songs in this playlist will be for both of them.
Soldier, Poet, King - The Oh Hellos
It isn't a character playlist without Soldier, Poet, King /j in actuality though, this song references the prophecy Kirry mentions at the start of the game (that I personally think he Made Up), and it's supposed to be the song the bard troup makes after the Kingsbloods help them
Thus Always To Tyrants - The Oh Hellos
Here's where things get a little abstract, this is kinda like a rallying cry just before Felis and Canis face off against Lioner and Wolfen. While it's written like it's meant to be for the citizens of the countries, it was actually made for themselves.
New River - The Oh Hellos
This song would be after the fight is one, before the Kingsbloods are returned home. For them, a kind of summary of how much they've changed over the course of the adventure.
I Have Made Mistakes (2022 remaster) - The Oh Hellos
Yes it being the remaster is important, the sound quality and clarity adds to the emotions I needed conveyed :) this is meant to be the credits song for Golden AU. So it'd be at the very end of the fic. There's a big gap of time between the last song and this one, and that's when the fic will take place.
Twisted!Gold AU
(this is the super angsty spinoff AU that I mention sometimes. The idea behind it is that things go horribly wrong during the Cult Incident of Golden AU and Felis ends up dead. Only for him to be brought back to life by said cult with a newfound anger. Essentially a Came Back Wrong situation)
Stronger - The Score
This AU isn't quite as developed, so neither are the songs lol. This one was actually for an earlier version of it, but some of it still applies to Felis' feelings about Being Dead
Battle Cry - Imagine Dragons
Okay now THIS is the big one. I've got a whole animatic in my head for this one. Covering from when Felis first gets brought back to life, to when he forces Canis to kill him for good.
Over and Over AU:
(my timeloop AU! Basically Aelius made a backup timeline in case he couldn't get the Kingsblade naturally. He'd force a timeline to repeat until they managed to forge the Kingsblade, or he got the Kingsblade through other means)
Again & Again - thebirdandthebee
What is a timeloop story without either this song or Over and Over? I feel like this one is probably self explanatory lol
Rule #36 Long Way From Home - Fish in a Birdcage
This song is specifically for the one time they would have been successful! Up until this point, Felis and Canis have been driven apart thanks to looping through time. This time they finally decide to tell Kirry and he comes up with a plan to help them out. And it would have worked!!! If they weren't too late for the Kingsblade.
Scars - The Crane Wives
Having already acquired the Kingsblade, Aelius has no use for this timeline anymore. But here they were in the Zero Dimension having actually managed to succeed. If he sent them back they would continue looping indefinitely. So instead he just. Leaves them in the Zero Dimension. They have a huge argument and choose to part ways for good. Kirry is left wondering what happened to them.
The Lioner and Wolfen Playlist :D
(essentially most of the songs I associate with Lioner and Wolfen. This is technically in relation to Golden AU, but could also be taken as canon. Though much like the Golden AU playlist this one is organized in a way to tell a story)
Pompeii - Bastille
So the organization is kinda weird here, Pompeii is actually Lioner's final song. The song for his death, I put it at the start for reasons you'll soon find out <3 the next three songs will all be for Lioner, and his decent into madness
In The Mirror - justan oval
The very beginning, when Lioner starts seeing this in his reflection. When Aelius begins haunting him.
Atlantic - Sleep Token
This actually tells a similar story to Passerine!!! Though from the perspective of a partially corrupted Lioner, rather than from Felis who managed to escape it.
Monster - Fight The Fade
Lioner's decent into corruption is complete. There's maybe a few hints of what he was, and how he might feel about being corrupted, but this is the Lioner we all know and love
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Wolfen's turn!!! Similarly to Pompeii, this is Wolfen's death song. Funnily enough, it's my association with Wolfen that turned Viva La Vida into one of my favorite songs of all time. That, and the fact that it's one of the few songs that's perfectly in my vocal range.
Memory Lane - justan oval
When Aelius first started corrupting him, Wolfen's decent was a lot more sudden and violent than Lioner's, but it all started with Aelius pretending to be someone who cared about him.
Fracture - RED
This is where things start getting bad, and Wolfen learns a toxic reliance on Aelius. He starts to seperate from himself, essentially killing who he was before.
Step Inside, The Violence - RED
Full corruption. Wolfen lets his own anger and violence consume him.
Where We Belong - Shayfer James
Taking a bit of a pivot here, this song is for both of them! I'm thinking directly after their deaths. Funnily enough, someone wrote a fic earlier this year that matches this and the next song really well! Obviously with the author's own ideas on how the corruption works and who Lioner and Wolfen are, but it's what got me writing again :D
Coldplay & Bastille Viva La Pompeii (mashup) - Dakota Mashups

A general Canis song! Like many of these songs I discovered it after I finished the Golden AU playlist, so I don't really have a place for it lol, but! I'm thinking it's on a similar vein to Ship in a Bottle, just now that he's changed and grown a little.
Give it a Rest - The Arcadian Wild
This song to me is one from Kirry to Felis. I always imagined Kirry having a closer relationship to Felis that to Canis, and this kinda reflects that. It's technically another Golden AU song lol, most of these are

Another Felis song!! Similarly to what Wolves of the Revolution is to Canis, the same is for Felis. Except I think this one absolutely doesn't have a place in the playlist. I'm thinking post Cult Incident for this one.

Ouughhh.. this one is for Felis and Canis' relationship :D specifically as if it were written by Canis
Brave - Fish in a Birdcage
This one is sorta like Felis' response to Give It A Rest? Where he reassures Kirry that things are different now.
The Question is Who's Who? (Villain and Hero duet) - Natalie Chavez
An exchange between Kirry and Wolfen! I imagine this is right before the war got really bad. Kirry tries one last time to fix things, but it's already too late.
Peace - Shayfer James
This is meant to represent Wolfen's mindset during the game ^^ HOWEVER I think this could make a pretty good Drakoth song also
Disembodied Mind - Sparkbird
While the Lioner and Wolfen Playlist is specifically for their Golden AU versions, I see this one as more the 'canon' way they're corrupted. I actually think it's because of that fic I mentioned earlier that I feel this way lol

For some reason it makes me think of the unfinished cyberpunk AU???? Idk. Even if it's not quite Cat Quest related you should still listen to it lol
