I’m playing this game in Spanish called Cat Quest, which is fun because it’s constant cat puns. PURRFAVOR is going to enter my vocabulary whether I like it or not
me and @skylar-jay cooking up the EVIL and DOOMED yaoi 🤝
Shout out to the newest person in the Cat Quest discord who has done nothing but post Captain Meowtallika x Pi-rat King art and headcanons
You would do numbers here on Tumblr
I decided to make a thing for @sparkbirdmusic 's After the Ball art contest while still trying to keep it on theme with the blog.
I suck at finger quotes.
Inspo: the lyric "I value grit over fancy tricks, anyway" was bouncing around my brain like the DVD symbol, and I was trying to figure out how to use it. It finally found home on this comic.
hey. hey don’t cry. gender in the cat quest video game series is really interesting, okay? in the first game, the protagonist is described as ‘he’, but only once or twice. spirry is never gendered. additionally, their (the protagonist’s) main motivation is saving their sister, following the typical ‘damsel in distress’ storyline. despite this, cat quest two is by far the most gendered game imo, following kings and all. while kirry, too, is never gendered, i think we can assume they’re a ‘he’ (as much as spirit guardians can have genders, at least), bc, again, of the overall king theme of the game, and his name is inspired by the word ‘king’. finally, the third game is by far the most inclusive — there are two skins available (and while they’re not called ‘male & female’ or ‘boy & girl’ or anything like that, one has eyelashes and one doesn’t, so [they both have super cute blush, tho!!]). a pronoun is never used for the protagonist nor captain carrey (note i haven’t actually finished this one yet lol, so there may be a pronoun used for carrey in the final confrontation, as there often is with these games, i’ve noticed)
