Oh my God, Tim,. Thank you and how dare you. I don’t have the energy to go into reasoning for all of them but here’s a bit. 

Emily - At the end of 2006, Ys had been out for a month or so. I’d been distinctly unimpressed with the bits of Joanna I’d heard before and basically lstarted listening to it so that I could write an informed snark later. Emily started and the next thing I know the song is nearly over. It was the most mesmerised I’d ever been (or have been since). The huminidity in my town and the tall pines that towered over me during those holidays felt like Emily, and Ys, writ large. It became, as quickly as you might presume, something very profound to me.
