Celeste's hair was damp around her shoulders as she picked a booth in the back of the diner, a few beers cradled in her arm and a tub of ice cream under the other while half an apple pie tray balanced in her hand and she moved to sit down. In seconds she had one of the beers open and she'd tapped a few things on her phone until music started quietly playing, the glow from the screen lighting the table enough for her to just dig a spoon into the ice cream and then a small chunk of the the pie and start eating. All the while though she felt a presence near her and she glanced up, taking a swig of her beer.

"With no power all the food is gonna go bad anyways. Might as well enjoy it." She announced, nodding in front of her, "If you're gonna watch, feel free to join. Or grab your own, there was like three other ice cream tubs in the freezer."

The town was in disarray and his cellphone was dead - not like he likely could've used it, anyway. His night had been miserable, though the storm was only half of the reason why. With his bicycle gone, washed to god knows where, he was left to walking the streets of Aurora Bay like he was leaving an awful one night stand. It was always so easy to know just where anyone was in this town, but without his cellphone, he felt completely out of the loop.

His circle of friends were tight, but he still found himself worried about where they all could be. His mind wandered to Celeste, too. Were they all okay? Did they find some place safe? His anxiety had been at an all time high since the night before. Ignoring that tightening in his chest, he kept walking but immediately came to a stop when he spotted someone familiar. "Cel," he breathed out a sigh of relief. And then, he couldn't help himself. Once she saw him too, he went over to her quickly, quite literally jumping over part of a fallen tree trunk just to pull her into his arms quick.

"Christ, I was just thinking about you," he admitted and held her for a moment. Maybe the hug was a little overboard, but he couldn't help it. Backing up some, his hands cupped her cheeks and he looked at her, truly searching if she was in one piece. "You good?"

Liza was pretty sure she was in some sort of shock after last night, like her brain was maybe just wanting to pretend none of it had ever happened-- but then she looked at the little nicks along her arms and the stitches now along her palm, she thought about her living room that currently had a tree in it, and she remembered it was very, very real. They were safe though, and that's what'd mattered.

After reuniting with her sister and letting Wes take her to the hospital for her hand, she insisted he go see his own sister and she went off along Aurora Bay Drive, both surveying the damage and wanting to check on one other.

"A-Aves?" She called out as she rang the doorbell, worriedly wondering if her best friend was even home (or if she'd been trapped somewhere all night...or something worse)... "Avery!"

The Aurora Bay Hospital Emergency Room was a madhouse.

The waiting room was overrun by patients and visitors alike, awaiting their turn to be checked in, checked out, or able to check on a loved one. Carter was much too impatient for the fanfare, considering he didn't even know if Mandy was there at all. His cell service still hadn't managed to get restored, and with his constant checking, his phone had died before the storm had ever stopped raging.

The forced radio silence had done little to ease the anxiety that had begun to creep up as his drinks had worn off. Not only did Carter have his own headache, but a crick in his neck, and a tightness in his chest from the antiseptic smell he would forever associate with near death.

But Mandy wasn't dying. She might not have even been there, but rather safe at home, or with friends, or somewhere other than lying on a hospital bed, alone, in pain, needing him--

Waiting wasn't going to work for him.

Bypassing the line that'd begun to form at the nurses station, Carter tried to appear as inconspicuous as possible as he slowly began to wander from closed curtain to curtain, quickly tugging them back in attempt to peer at who was inside.

"Wrong room."

"Apologies."

"Have you thought 'bout maybe seein' someone 'bout that?"

He had the next excuse on the tip of his tongue before he'd even drawn the last curtain back, but it died right in his throat at the sight of his sister in the bed before him.

"Fuckin' Christ, kid, how'd I know I'd find you here?" His relief was as obvious as the grin on his face, stepping further into the makeshift room and tugging the curtain closed behind him. "What'd you do, huh? Try and boogie board down the Quarter?"

Her head was throbbing and swirling - and it wasn't from the concussion. Getting part of a tree knocked down on her was one thing, but having to be stuck in the same space as Axel was another. She was cleaned up from the accident, minus the dry blood in her hair, but she kept insisting she was fine.

Fine enough to suddenly move from one side of the room to another, a small desperate attempt to chat with someone else for a moment. Spotting someone by a window, the storm raged on outside and Chey approached her with her arms crossed over her chest. Nodding towards Axel across the room, she asked her, "You think if I try hard enough I can convince him I have amnesia and don't remember him?"

drenched from head to toe when she arrived, cherry had spent at least half an hour in the corner trying (and failing) to dry off. unsure of how long this storm would last, she had no intention of sitting around in wet clothes for god knows however long. under the cover of darkness, she'd pinched a tidal wave merchandised t-shirt off the wall and gone into the backroom to change. just as she was decent, there was a rustle at the door she had locked for privacy. "sorry! i'll be out in a minute!" she called out to the person on the other end. fixing herself up and grabbing her clothes, she exited the room in a flurry, knowing she was probably caught. "my bad, i needed to chang—" stopped in her tracks by a familiar face she hadn't expected. even in the darkness of the music shop, she knew it was undeniably him. "danny.. what are you doing here?"

Storm be damned, Avery was out in it, trying to track down her girlfriend the moment cell service had been knocked out--both out of worry for Ophelia's safety and because she needed to ease Ophelia's worries about her own well-being. Prior to separating that day, Avery had told Ophelia that she was going to her house to work on the cover a bit more and that area happened to be the heaviest hit by the storm. She needed to let Ophelia know that she was ok and the thought of going even the next few hours not knowing was driving Avery crazy.

Not to mention everyone else she needed to check up on...

Nevertheless, she had just passed the All-Nighter Diner when she found herself roughly grabbed and dragged into the 'safe zone'. In his defense, she was putting up quite a fight, trying to leave his grip so she could keep searching, but Avery wasn't as strong as the man who had caught her. "Let me go!" she demanded.
