Let's give it up for the fifth year of aushun week!! To make it extra special I'm gonna have it be three prompts to choose from. Usually its a quote and a word prompt. Now I'll be adding a colour prompt to go with it.

Day 5 of @hetalia-aushun-week: Music/Indigo

This HC came up only very recently.

I like to think Roderich experiences stage-fright. Like… on a more intense scale than you’d anticipate if you only saw him perform (regrettably, I think of Pavarotti backstage before he goes on saying “I go to die” every time he had to sing a high C).

I still think conducting/playing his instrument of choice is the closest he feels to having a semblance of control in his life/general confidence, but he’s also a perfectionist who will get into his head, especially if he’s working on pieces of people he considers genius.

Despite what Rod may have otherwise expected, Erzsi finds it endearing (still in a wet kitten way, but endearing nonetheless). And she’d be lying if she didn’t find his switch into performance mode a little sexy 🌹✨

Day 7: Free Day

It has came. The end of AusHun Week. What a ride!

Many, many thanks to @hetalia-aushun-week again for hosting this event. I had so much fun and saw amaznig art (and put fics on my back log. I will get to them soon, I promise)

For personal reasons I couldn't participate during the second half of the week but I plan on visiting the remaining prompts when I do get the time and motivation.

Again, thank you so so much for everyone who took part in it or was just here to see the art and read the fics. You are the people keeping this community running! You and the organiser of the event obviously.

Their music never died

She always hoped that she would be welcomed by his music, be it from the piano or the sound of the violin, as soon as she opened the front door when she visited his home. If only for the memories the music would make her remember.

The way that man touched the keys or strings would tell her how he felt, it always had, even though Roderich had rarely been able to actually tell her how he felt himself.

His words often failed him where music never did. Like the way he played Chopin when he was angry or how he always played Beethoven's Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor when he wanted to apologise to her.

Sounds that made Erzsébet think of those days of old, when they were so happy and she would hear that music when she entered their shared home. Back when she lived in his house, of the time she fell in love with this piano man and of course during their marriage.

And if she was honest with herself she could remember times when they had been far younger, and she had been to determined to do the same things boys like Gilbert did, that she had enjoyed the music but had never dared to say that out loud.

Standing before the front door, she took her key out of her pocket and let herself in. The second the door opened, she could already hear the soft sounds of the grand wing reach her and as the Hungarian woman made her way through the manor towards the room where her former husband was.

As Erszébet entered the room, Roderich looked up at her but never paused his fingers  from sliding across the keys. He didn’t stop playing when she crossed the room or when she sat down beside him. Nor did he stop playing when she took his face in her hands and kissed him.

Because she still loved him, she loved him even after their divorce and the Austrian had continued to be in love with her so long after their marriage had ended.

The truth was that their music had never died.

Yes, I do have them being transported to the wedding in the Sisi Coronation Carriage pulled by Lippizaners - why would FJ1 not make a show of them to the public/take the opportunity to slight his wife as a joke? Why not distract the discontented populous of the empire with a lavish display of wealth and power? That always ends well 🫠

Thus ends the first part of what was billed the “wedding of the century” ✨
