The Cuélebre is a snake-like dragon found in Asturian and Cantabrian mythology. The Cuélebre is described as a snake-like dragon which is immortal and cannot die of old age and its saliva creates magical healing stones that can cure illnesses and disease. The Cuélebre is said guard treasure inside of caves and though it is immortal, as it ages, its scales will thicken and bat wings will grow inside their body and they will only move in order to hunt people and livestock. A Cuélebre can be killed by feeding it red hot stones or bread with with nails in it. On the night of Saint Bartholomew, the Cuélebre's power is at its strongest and it will wreak havoc across the land and as it gets older, the Cuélebre will fly across the sea to an island called Mar Cuajada which is their paradise.
