Took a sample of some grass n later got it IDed without having to send the sample anywhere. So I planted the seeds on the 14th of March, 2026.
I'm working with minimal info on how to grow this sp, so I mimicked the environment I took it from best I could.
60 seeds, Austrostipa gibbosa.
I also randomly chucked some in the garden cause I ran outta space.
No clue how long these are supposed to take to grow! A website said 2 to 4 weeks for the entire genus, but there was nothing specific on this species I could find. And I'm on a botanical website that's saying 5 days for one sp. There's 3 to 6 for another.
I pulled out some weeds a few days ago, as they were growing outside of where I planted seeds. However, today I went out to find two more sprouts. These were growing where there are seeds, so I left them.
They MAY have sprouted after 7 days.
Some images of a wild specimen (seeds taken from this site). There's lots of it here.
