Finally Crawling Out of My Study Cave 🦀📚
Hello everyone! It’s been way too long since I updated this blog. Honestly, I’ve been like a little hermit crab hiding in my room, buried under books and revision sheets, studying like a maniac for my school tests.
But! I finally got my results today!
This term was tougher than the last one, so I was mentally preparing myself for lower marks… but in the end, things turned out pretty okay. More on that later!
A Break From the Cave: Hiking Time!
Yesterday (Sunday), I escaped my study prison and went hiking to Hoshino Buranko—the “Star Swing”—after joining a new hiking group from Osaka.
I really liked the previous group I used to hike with, but I ended up speaking way more English than Japanese because of the members. With this new Osaka group though, I spoke Japanese literally all day! It was such a good chance to practice, learn new phrases, and actually sound like someone who studies Japanese instead of someone who just collects textbooks for decoration.
And the best part? There were still some beautiful red leaves left! 🍁
I was so worried I wouldn’t get to see the autumn colors this season, but—hurray!—autumn came through for me.
The hike itself was a bit tiring, probably because I’ve exercised approximately zero in the past month while being trapped in exam hell. But it felt amazing to move my body again, breathe fresh air, and meet awesome new friends!
And now… the moment of truth… my grades!
I managed to get 3 As and 3 Bs, and I kept my perfect 100 in my presentation/expression class—my strongest subject! ✨
So overall, the hermit crab life paid off.
