I finally listened to ARTPOP, and man I haven't been this conflicted about an album in a while.

On one hand, some of the songs are really good and have the strung-out darkpop sound that I adore (Sexxx Dreams, Donatella, Manicure, Swine, oh my god I LOVE SWINE IT IS MY NEWEST JAM). On the other.... Jewels N' Drugs, Aura, Gypsy, annnnd Artpop....happened. My response to those songs range between "I don't care" and "AAAAAURGH".

Overall, I'm glad I only spent $3.99 on my copy.

#aura makes me mad on two levels #because the music on the non-chorus bits are super cool #BUT THEN THE LYRICS HAPPEN #AND THEN THE SHITTY CHORUS HAPPENS #AUUUURGH #if the entire album sounded like strung-out darkpop (and it almost does!!) I would have adored it #actually if gypsy and aura weren't so gross I probably would have liked it more
