This event celebrates significant anniversaries of two initiatives that were launched at AUWCL – the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Digital Future Coalition, the first broad-based civil society coalition that formed to address copyright policy issues; and the 10th anniversary of the best practices in fair use, through which a series of creative communities have transformed their approach to this vital copyright doctrine.
Big things brewing at WCL this fall! Come learn how all this copyright activism really got its start 20 years ago, how best practices have helped communities use fair use since 10 years ago, and how Judge Leval's "transformative use" concept might continue to evolve and thrive over the next 10 or 20 years.
Officially decided that I am going to American University Washington College of Law to get my JD/MA in International Affairs next year!! I'm so excited to move to DC and start this next chapter!
