Today... was not a good day.
Shigeru had woken up late, for starters. He wasn’t the biggest morning person and getting up on time was always an issue, but this morning he had a rare occurrence where neither his boyfriend nor their shared child dog had woken him up. And so he had slept through his alarm completely, missing out on some important morning appointments. Like his appointment with all his hair products in the bathroom, the shower in general, and even his hot date with leftover pizza (for breakfast).
He was a believer in the idea that when you started your day out properly, you would have a good day. Shigeru had made plans, after scrambling around to dress himself somewhat decently (still managing to make something he’d thrown on look like a magazine spread), to pick up something at the nearby Starbucks. Of course, as luck would have it, the line was much too long and made him even more late. At least his blueberry muffin had tasted amazing, for having had to wait over ten minutes.
That would be the only highlight of his day, probably.
He’d dropped his phone three times on his journey from Starbucks to his bus stop, managing to crack the screen slightly and when he boarded there was no seats left available. Resigning himself to the fact that the universe was working solely against him and his plans today, Shigeru tried his best to simply stop trying. And that was when the bus driver showed off his remarkable skills, taking a corner at a sharp turn just as Shigeru was switching hands for his hold on the strap above his head.
All but flying into the lap of the nearest stranger, Shigeru could feel his face heating up. He was mortified, and he would probably never ever live this down, A quiet apology left his lips before he dared to open his eyes, wincing slightly at the way the side of the bus seat dug uncomfortably into his shoulder blade. Thankfully, he had managed to only upset one or two people, although the guy whose lap he’d landed in probably suffered the most.
Looking up at him, Shigeru flashed his brightest smile, trying his best to play off the epic failure that was his existence that day, “s-sorry! That turn kinda took me by surprise, aha...”
Scrambling to try and stand back up, the bus driver pulled yet another sharp turn and Shigeru found himself thrown violently back against the male, a quiet whine leaving him.
“Universe, stoooooooop...” He groaned, sighing sadly as he frowned at the poor stranger, “I really, really am sorry.”
