Quaritch really brought his evil goth gf to protect him from Neytiri 😭😭
An arrow struck a wounded place
Fun things, just my thoughts 🤔
Quaritch was shot in the arm by Spider, and later, when trying to rescue him, he was unable to lift him, symbolizing his ineffectual attempts to connect with his son, which manifest in twisted, flawed treatment even when he has good intentions.
Neytiri was shot in the back by Varang (who channels grief in a destructive way) in the same spot as Neteyam, mirroring son’s wound, which symbolically represents her wounded heart after his death.
Jake was shot in the leg by Ash warrior, which can be seen as a symbol of his past disability and a current weakness fueled by his past. May also allude to the biblical story of Jacob, who was left with a damaged leg after wrestling with God for a blessing.
As someone previously noted, everyone was shot on their dominant side: Quaritch and Jake are right-handed, while Neytiri is left-handed.
All of these shootings happened before the character’s inner healing, or, in Quaritch’s case, before giving himself time for it by escaping death at Neytiri’s hands.
What do you think?

My heart is hurting for this couple.
Hurting for their loss.
Their loss of their son, loss of their faith, their home, their people, their bearings.
This scene is hurting because aJake fell in love with this world. He grew attached. He lived this beautiful life. Fell in love and made a family. Now this family has lost one of its important loved ones and is in shambles.
Jake is taking his frustration out on Eywa. Losing faith in her. It’s so heartbreaking to see him lashing out because he lost one of his sons.
I understand where you are coming from. But he has to remember that his wife, Neytiri is native Na’vi and had lived this life longer than he had and knows more than he does. This feels like disrespect to her. Throwing disrespect on the great mother’s name when that is one of the main things she believes in. One of the main things she has faith in. One of the main things she is clinging onto for dear life. Because that is all she has known.
Neytiri is trying to hold it together. She is just exhausted.
Trying to figure out where to go on from this. How to move on and live life again.
Neytiri is pouring out her heartache and her pain and all Jake can say your family is here. Thats not the point she is trying to make.
Neytiri face after Jake’s statement. I can’t. She is frustrated within herself and feels like she can’t even talk with her husband. She would rather things go quiet. She looks like shes about to burst into tears again.
My heart mainly hurts for her in this scene. I just want to hold her.
Sa'ata: "Neytiri?"
Sa'ata: "NEYTIRI 😱"
Lo’ak went to the Jake Sully university of yearning for woman way out of your league
Lo‘ak was Neytiri’s youngest for 8 years before Tuk.
That is her baby. That’s mama’s boy 🥺
Jake Sully, you ARE the father.
