well, all of the kataras can’t be winners. today I had ten hours of class so it’s not my favorite and frankly I do not have time to draw her again!

@avatarinktober 2019, day six - parting.

I had NO idea what to do for this prompt. not a clue. but I figured “parting” could also mean parting from the series? so here’s a little screenshot redraw of katara and sokka from the last episode. the dorky water siblings, I love them !!!

sokka’s eyes are too big and his eyebrows don’t match sizes. but it be like that sometimes. this is still one of my more complex pieces and I’m proud of it!

for @avatarinktober 2019 day seven (trials) you get a very sloppy and lazy bumi sketch because A) I did not feel like drawing today but have vowed to keep up my commitment, and B) bumi puts aang through all the little trials way back in the first season!

fun fact - the first time I ever watched avatar (when I was sixteen!), I stopped after bumi’s episode. I thought he was so annoying and seriously didn’t think I could enjoy the show anymore! luckily, I went back to it a few months later and although bumi’s intro episode still isn’t my favorite, I don’t find him annoying OR skip it (anymore).

@avatarinktober 2019, day seven: disappointment.

this another prompt that left me a little stumped, because I couldn’t think of any moments from the series that scream “disappointment,” but I thought okay, who sees themselves as a disappointment? of course, zuko came to mind, but with that, came his quote from siege of the north: “my father says azula was born lucky. he says I was lucky to be born.”

this side-by-side of zuko and azula is as they’re both about to be crowned fire lord. and while the one who was born lucky is really the one who is ultimately a “disappointment,” the one who was lucky to born gets to rule the nation that deemed him a “disappointment.”

the fire sibs are just too intriguing!

(and apparently I have an obsession with drawing them. ha!)
