2. What does your character do for a living, and how did they end up in that line of work or profession?

Nicolosa Allegranza (aka Nico) is a fledgling professional monster hunter, currently specializing in vampires! Or, trying to anyway. Things keep getting in the way of actually killing monsters, but they have killed a non-zero amount (and gotten paid for it!), so, it counts. She does it for Religious Reasons, having been kind of a miracle baby so her mom wanted to dedicate her to their church, and of their church's specialties (prophecy, healing, hunting, cultivating) hunting was the one that appealed to her the most.

10. Does your character have any special abilities, skills, or talents? How did your character develop or fine-tune them?

Nico is very good at sensing other people's intentions, partially through magical/divine means and partially through regular intuition/experience. She's also highly trained with a greatsword, which is especially impressive considering she's 5' 2" lmao

25. If your character had a Spotify or similar playlist that perfectly described them, what might be on it?

funny you should ask this bc she does have exactly such a playlist... it would have old country songs, the mountain goats album Bleed Out, and, if such a song were on spotify, The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All The Other Jedi And Eats Their Bones, also by the mountain goats

i'm proud of my efforts to communicate clearly! understanding what folks mean is sometimes a bit tricky for me, so i've decided to start working to be as clear as possible in my own intents/feelings, as both a possible example and a way to reduce my own miscommunications. it's taken some time, and there's always more to do, but i'm happy with my progress and the way its enabled me to handle conflict in my social circles without things ever getting too heated. happy new year! :D

howdy! do you have any tips for beginners who want to get into wiki-editing and Compiling That Good Good Info? i've been wanting to contribute to another podcast's fandom wiki since i'm relistening anyway, but it's all rather daunting when i think too hard about it. no rush and no pressure to answer of course!!! your blog just came to mind when i thought abt folks who know this sorta thing. ^-^

ooh, that’s a big question

There’s obviously a ton of advanced stuff you can get into with formatting and templates and stuff but you really don’t need any of that to get started. Just look at what they’re already doing and try to make your contributions similar, if that makes sense.

And definitely poke around to see if they have a Manual of Style or some other kind of editing guidelines, not all communities have them but they’re very helpful in keeping things consistent across the wiki. The wiki itself should also have the Help Pages, an official knowledge base that covers pretty much all the basics. Lotta good stuff in there.

Hmm, I’d also say that using the source editor is one of the things that most helped me get comfortable with editing and formatting pages. Basically, when you hit edit, the page doesn’t look much different to how it usually displays but, go into source editor mode from the little dropdown menu

and it’ll show you the raw code of the page instead. (Im not a programmer so idk if code is the correct term but you get what I mean.)

When I was starting out and didn’t know how to do something, I’d usually just find a page where the thing had already been done, open it up in source editor and peek at the code. You can definitely just search for stuff in the help pages too, but I always found it helpful to see the code “in action”, so to speak.

Just in general, don’t worry too much about messing up either. Even if you horrifically break a page, you can literally just hit the undo button on your edit and try again. If there are a bunch of established editors around, they should be delighted that there’s someone new who wants to contribute and if there aren’t really many other editors around, well, that’s your city now. ;3

I’m blanking a bit on more general advice but I’m always down to answer any specific questions you might have and I definitely want to know what the podcast in question is 👀👀

her pet peeve is when the other magic users in the bewitched hunters (but mostly tirrbek) dont value her opinion or forget to ask her opinion on magic stuff just because she hasn't been using it as long/ isnt at their level yet

24. do they like cheesy romantic novels/movies/shows?

she would Vehemently Deny it but i think maybe secretly like a good romance novel. she's definitely on the aro/ace spectrum so i dont think she fancies some cheesy romantic love for herself but she does appreciate a good happy escapist book

29. do they have any aesthetic that they really like?

.....she's a drow rogue CMON u know she's all about That Emo Shit the dark colours mostly blacks and dark leather. we did an assassination at a masked ball once and she wore a deep red sleeveless dress with long matching gloves and a black cloak and a black fancy mask embroidered with silver thread and beads and she fucking Loved that outfit and she didnt even get caught for that murder i think the prison incident around the same time was completely unrelated

34. a random fact?

a couple of sessions ago the DM made an NPC say smth like "...maam. or sorry are you a maam?" and Me Personally was like i dont wanna say im a girl even in game so tishina just said "...eh" and then later on i thought about this more and decided that Yes this character ive played for 2 years has just now realised that she's nonbinary because of some random old dude (she still uses she/her pronouns tho)
