stephentrask: Back in the pink with Darren Criss after he killed it (as usual) in the mind-blowing “Maybe Happy Ending!”

I’m going to try and share my thoughts on this show tomorrow but the short version is this is one of the most extraordinary musicals I’ve ever seen. Michael Arden is a visionary. Every element, whether over the top (set design 🤯) or subtle as fuck (Clint Ramos weaves a narrative with weft, warp, and starch), is in the of service of story telling before anything else. The score was just brilliant. Bravo to the whole production. @ maybehappyending @clintramos @ michaelarden @ darrencriss

On December 19, Darren Criss brought “A Very Darren Crissmas” to the Lexington Opera House and @jane_is_not_acoustic videotaped our rough and ready first run through at my studio that afternoon. Here is the mashup we performed that night, “Happy X-Mas (War Is Over) and “Wig In A Box”. It’s a fun bit of off the cuff music making with a couple of friends, a couple of instruments, and a couple of songs.
